  1. No - either don't do it or do it and accept the consequences. Is it worth the risk?
  2. I didn't think you could do that with regular audio cds - just mp3s. Have you seen this done elsewhere? Is it mentioned in the manual?
  3. Make sure you have the audio out set to Sync and make sure Sync is using your bluetooth audio input (after the phone is paired).
  4. It only voids the warranty on anything that gets damaged by the HID kit or the HID kit installation. Some people have lost the Smart Junction Box and that would most likely not be covered. Adjusting the factory headlamps will yield great improvements - they come aimed way too low.
  5. Obviously it's a really really sophisticated and really really expensive.............................IAT resistor.
  6. Would you believe Ford - the ones who make and warranty the engine - or the dealer, who stands to make more money on more frequent oil changes?
  7. I agree. I thought it was a coolant change.
  8. I'm sure it's explained in the owner's guide navigation supplement.
  9. Better look in the daytime because you certainly won't see them at night...... Seriously guys - I try not to comment on mods but this is a real safety issue.
  10. Have you not seen the Honda recalls recently? Outside of the AWD PTU seal problem and some release 1.0 software nitpicks with the 2011 mytouch interface the Edge has been fairly trouble free. And the 2011 Edge blows away the CRV in interior comfort and amenities. You really need to drive both and decide based on that. Reliability is close enough to not be a deciding factor outside of maybe the AWD PTU seals which may or may not still be an issue in cold climates.
  11. I didn't say they totally blocked all the light, but if you honestly believe they don't reduce visibility to other drivers then you're just fooling yourself. There's a reason DOT doesn't allow it. And you do understand that if someone hits you from behind you could (and most likely would) be found liable if someone notices the tinted lights. I just want to make sure you really understand the consequences of being cool.
  12. I can't believe you'd sacrifice rear visibility just because it looks cool. Kids......don't try this at home.
  13. Ok, I'll buy that but only for idiots who don't have their mirrors adjusted properly and who don't glance over their shoulder before changing lanes. My vehicles don't have blind spots.
  14. Here we go again. How do they improve safety (especially considering only a fraction of people even use their turn signals to begin with)?
  15. I don't understand the abbreviations either, but that's definitely the passenger side only without homelink.
  16. The MKX is just a mid cycle refresh. I don't think the chassis can take the 3.5L Ecoboost torque. Remember they had to essentially rebuild the Taurus/MKS/MKT/Flex front clip to handle that kind of power. I expect to see that for the next version which may be on an entirely new platform.
  17. It will work but last time I priced one it was over $300.
  18. The stock power isn't that much - I'm guessing 20-30 watts max. Ford counts 2-way coax speakers as 2 separate speakers. Not sure how that adds up in the Edge.
  19. Ford has been using the same size door speakers forever (5x7/6x8), so just use the 2010 model for now to see options and confirm before you actually place the order.
  20. It's a common upgrade and does improve the sound. A good set of infinity kappas or polk audio components will work great and aren't super expensive. Crutchfield.com will show you what fits and what doesn't. If you order from them you get wiring adapters and detailed instructions.
  21. Well that's strange - it ISN'T in the owners manual after all. No mention of it whatsoever. Either it's an oversight or it's something only the dealer can change. Follow the instructions for checking message center status and see if it pops up. Now that I think about it, I've never seen an oil life warning on my 08 Limited either. Maybe it's just not there. Are you sure the dealer reset it?
  22. All incentives are regional - that's why you have to put in your zip code on the websites.
  23. Not necessary. In the past mfrs used special break-in oil or there were "metal shavings" that needed to be removed but that's no longer the case. You can do it if it makes you feel better but it's not required.
  24. It's based on the factory recommended synthetic blend 5w-20. A good synthetic blend (like the factory motorcraft) should last 10K miles with no problems.
  25. It means Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (auto climate control) or Manual temp control.
