  1. They have fixed the problem, but the repair procedure is complicated and a lot of dealers are not capable (or willing) to perform the repair correctly. Unfortunately this gets interpreted as "Ford can't fix my problem". I don't have an issue with posting repair horror stories as long as all the facts are included. But when you only post the very worst stories and you never post the successful repairs (including your own) or other facts then you're nothing but a troll with a web site.
  2. Figure the cost of a new similar vehicle at dealer invoice minus rebates, then price out a similar 2008 model. Take 1/3 of the difference and add it to the 2008 model. That should get you in the ballpark.
  3. No. Do you work for Toyota?
  4. The fact that you continue to sign your posts "Smokin Edge" when that is no longer true says a lot. You're just an internet basher with an axe to grind and you won't let the truth get in your way.
  5. Except the Ford AWD system doesn't use a center differential. There is a PTU in the front that sends power to the rear differential directly. The rear differential determines how much torque is applied to the rear based on electronic controls from the computer.
  6. Real chrome will pit over time and it's really heavy. These are lighter and should last a lot longer. Unfortunately there was some type of defect in either the materials or the manufacturing process. As with any new product there are a few bugs that have to be worked out.
  7. If the 08 isn't leaking now then it's probably ok. And even if it does the current fix seems to work as long as the dealer follows the directions.
  8. Don't start this crap over here, too.
  9. I've heard several good stories right here, in this thread, but I don't think you want to hear them. If you were being honest you'd post that many people had successful repairs but the repair process is complicated and some dealers were not performing the repair properly. But you obviously just have an axe to grind with Ford so you'll go out of your way to bash them regardless of the truth.
  10. I see you haven't bothered to update your website (www.smokinedge.com) with your successful repair or anyone else's. I guess the truth doesn't fit your agenda, huh?
  11. DO NOT - let me repeat - DO NOT use ArmorAll on the interior and especially not on leather seats. Just get a good quality leather cleaner/conditioner from Meguiars or Mothers or some other reputable mfr.
  12. You should be getting 23-24 on the highway. Did you reset the mpg readout after you were up to speed? What speed were you driving?
  13. I think the biggest change was the Camel dash went from tan in 07 to black in 08 (to avoid the glare). What specifically were you worried about?
  14. It will be noticeable but not like night and day different. I recommend Polk audio or Infinitys.
  15. Get a new dealer - the repair procedure is complicated and some dealers aren't doing it correctly.
  16. Ford researched this, using sensors to tell whether it was the driver or passenger. In the end they decided voice control was the best solution since that works for the driver, too.
  17. The dealer wants you to come back for a 3,000 mile oil change so that's what they put on the sticker. Ignore it or throw it away. They're just trying to get some extra $$$ out of you.

Only one I could find at the moment. The one I was looking for said the MKT had a better interior than the Q7 also. http://www.autobloggreen.com/2009/05/15/fi...d-mks-ecoboost/
  19. On one hand if you like the car it will be a lot cheaper to buy it than to get a new one. But before you do that you need to compare the lease buyout cost with the cost of a similar vehicle on the used car market - sometimes it's a lot cheaper to turn that one back in and buy the same vehicle used from another dealer or private party - depends on how they valued the vehicle when they wrote the lease and what the used car market is like in your area. Of course knowing the vehicle history can be worth a lot, too. On the other hand if you want something different or different features that you don't have now this would be a good time to do it, understanding that it will cost an additional $10K-$20K.
  20. Sounds like a bad controller if it's doing the same thing on both sides.

Did you see the Ecoboost MKT/Q7 V8 comparison? The MKT blew it away in every category, including interior quality. Very surprising!
  22. If it's the rear of the doors, just get a large torx bit and loosen the two bolts holding the latch and slide the latch in 1/8th of an inch.
  23. No, it's not - it works the same way that the Edge works. One touch open to the comfort position. You have to hold it to open it all the way. One touch on close stops short and you have to hold it to get it to close all the way.
