ford remote start only runs 10 mins?
tpm419419 replied to 95f150's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Most remote starts can be programmed for different time options. Bring it back to dealer so they can adjust it. You may have 10, 20, and possibly 30 min start options. Some also have a program to start the vehicle once an hour and then shut down if it is very cold -
Beautiful rides. I like the COE (Cab Over Engine). At least that is what people like me in the trucking industry call them. Any plans of putting a body on it??

Drivers door lock

When I had mine repaired they said the "arm" was defective and they replaced it. Whatever they did it seems to be good now -

Update This morning my car was covered in frost but my lock didn't stick. Guess they fixed it correctly. Also had 4 new Chrome clad wheels installed under warranty plus the PTU was changed out AGAIN. Ford rep said they had an updated redesign. We shall see -
I like it myself To each there own

Truck tires are not even plugged anymore. At least not by reputable companies. I am a tractor trailer driver and every flat is broken down on site and patched from the inside. Yesterday I had to have 2 flats repaired, one on my Edge and one on my wife's Scion Xb. The Xb was 19.99 and the Edge with 18" rims was 29.99 Same size patch and the machine didn't work any harder getting the tire off the rim And that is how they get you Happy Thanksgiving everyone
-
I understand that but the days of using a "Plug" have been outlawed. At least here in NY. Must have an inside patch
-
Is it me or are the prices to repair a tire through the roof? I had a simple nail in the tire and was charged 28.99 for the repair. It cost something like 32.00 by the time tax was added. I was told because it is a large tire they charge more. I think I have had tractor trailer tires repaired cheaper then that  I am in NY by the way

I think they screwed something up. If I have my auto temp set to 70 degrees and shut off my car, then restart the car using the remote start my auto temp will run the climate control as needed. Keep in mind the heater will not blow until the engine reaches warm enough temp. The AC will kick in right away if it needs it. I would go back and complain. I have had many vehicles with a remote start installed and most functions within the car will work except for heated mirrors and rear defroster because of the type of switch they are using. More expensive units will even program the defroster to come on and even open your windows for you Good luck
-
I have a very basic auto start in my 07 SEL Plus with auto temp and the car starts with whatever you had programmed previous. It will not operate the rear defroster but the heat and AC work fine as if you turned the key

The wheels will be covered under warranty due to the corrosion on the outer edge of the wheel. I just had 4 new chrome clad wheels ordered for my 2007. I am told they have a new vendor and that the corrosion problem has been addressed and fixed

Just got back from Ford. They said the bulbs were defective, the filaments were giving off too much heat. They changed the bulbs to an upgraded type and said the sockets were discolored on the outside but didn't pose a problem. (inside looked good). Surprisingly they also ordered 4 new chrome clad wheels for me because of the corrosion on the outer edge of the wheels I am trusting what they say and would rather not cut into the wiring to change the sockets if it didn't need to be

With 16000 miles on my 2007 Edge my signal/brake light went out.. first time it went out but later came back on and stayed working. now a week later it went out again. It is the rear left side that the bulb went out and I found it was burnt. Look at the pictures. The new bulb is working for now. Ford told me to come in right away so that will be tomorrow morning.

Integrated Blind Spot Mirrors
tpm419419 replied to bri719's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
you need to find a new car on the lot with heated mirrors, get the VIN # and then any autobody shop or Ford dealer would be able to get the part. The heated mirror wires are separate from the mirror motor housing. I guess you would need to run something from the rear window defroster switch to the mirrors themselves Good luck This day and age you would think heated mirrors would be a required safety option -

I wouldn't think so. Pull off your mirror glass and see if the contacts are there Old Mirror (contacts on left) New mirror (contacts on right) (in pictures) -

My brother in law has a Chevy and although it took some research the DRL's can be turned off for just that purpose -
I understated that Lex I do not have Nav plus it is a lease. If I were to buy it out I think I would invest in it. (have a bad neck) Thanks
