  1. Well, yes, I found that bolt and removed it. I'll check your post first thing tomorrow morning. Thanks for the fast response. Ed
  2. Well, just got around to doing it today and it was NOT a fun Sunday. For the life of me I could not get the plenum out. I removed all the stuff according to the description and the plenum moved about 1/4" up, which does not seem enough to move it forward. As a result, I could not remove the brake booster line at all so I closed everything down. The only thing I have accomplished was the change of the 3 front plugs and, for good measure, installed a new air filter. I'm not sure what I screwed up
  3. Yes, the recirculate switch improves the airflow quite a bit. I'll remove and clean that outside filter next weekend and see what happens. Thanks again for all the help.
  4. Great, thanks. I found this filter thingy and, since I have to take the plenum off next weekend to replace the spark plugs, I will try to take the filter off without ripping it into pieces and clean it a bit.
  5. Hi, My wife's 2007 Edge has a very poor air ventilation. Since the Texas heat is already starting that is a bit of a concern. I have removed the cabin filter and checked the fan below it and it seems to work fine. Is there an outside air inlet that could be clogged with leaves or other dirt? Thanks, Ed
  6. Great, thanks again. Just ordered the stuff, should be here before the end of the week. Looks like it's gonna be a fun weekend. Just replaced four rotors and brake pads two weekends ago. Cheers, Ed
  7. Lower set, upper set or both? Sorry for being a nuisance. Ed
  8. Noted! I just tried to order spark plugs at the www.rockauto.com website but there are so many different ones, it's confusing. Do you have a suggestion? Also, which gaskets should I order? Thanks again, Ed
  9. I entered spark plug replacement and that particular thread did not pop up, thanks for helping me out with that. Ed
  10. That was quick. Thanks a lot. Ed
  11. Guys, I have finally decided to replace the spark plugs in my 2007 Edge myself. I seem to remember that I have seen a lengthy post about that but, for the life of me, I can't find it. Can someone please point me to that threat? Thanks, Ed
  12. So, I replaced the fan assembly and now the driver-side fan runs again. I disconnected the upper left of the radiator hose and removed the air filter housing. Taking out and replacing the fan assembly took all of 5 minutes. Thanks for all your help, guys. Cheers, Ed
  13. Never mind. Found the yellow nut just below the lower water hose.
  14. Hi, I need to remove all the coolant in my 2007 Edge. I couldn't find a petcock at all. Do I have to remove the lower water hose to drain? Thanks, Ed
  15. Well, I checked the fan motor for any kind of resistance but it seems to be an open circuit. For good measure, I applied 12 V to the open fan connector and it didn't run. Seems to be solid proof. I'll order a new fan assembly. Thanks for all your help. Ed
  16. By what are the two fans controlled? I don't mean the controller unit but what event/signal triggers one or the other fan to run or to stop?
  17. The temp gauge sits mostly straight in the middle of "C" and "H", fan running or not. Only every now and then (maybe once a month) the temp gauge goes to hot and is back to normal after waiting 15 minutes or so. The engine never seems to overheat during that time. Could it be some kind of sensor? Shouldn't the engine check light come on? Or are there failure codes stored inside the OBDII system without that light coming on?
  18. OK, engine warm, no driver-side fan. Replace the fan assembly?
  19. Did that! The fan on the driver side does not run, the one on the passenger side does. Are both fans supposed to run when the engine is cold or only when the engine is hot?
  20. Thanks for the quick response. Is there any way to test that? Would the temp gauge go all the way up without the cooling fan?
  21. Hi, My wife's 2007 Edge acts up. The AC seems to work only at times and the temp gauge shows all kinds of temperatures. I had it tested and the egine temp is okay, there's enough coolant in the system, everything seems to be fine. Could it be some kind of sensor? Shouldn't the engine check light come on? Or are there failure codes stored inside the OBDII system without that light coming on? Where should I start searching? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Ed
  22. Hi, The headlights on my 2007 Edge are getting foggy and they show what looks like numerous tiny cracks in the lens. I'd like to buy new ones and I am wondering if anyone has any experience with those: http://www.ebay.com/bhp/2007-ford-edge-headlights? Thanks, Ed
