  1. Hi, After hitting my forehead pretty good on the open power lift gate (Edge 2009) I noticed that it didn't open all the way. I could manually push it up a couple of inches. Is there any adjustment?
  2. No, the message does not stay on the screen, at least I haven't seen it. And, there is no screen to speak of anyway, just that green segment display.
  3. Due to my "shock" hearing that message while playing a CD, I didn't even notice the screen. Anyway, this happens while driving in traffic, the last thing I would think of is taking a pic.
  4. Can this darn message be turned off since its useless?
  5. Hi, the other day my radio (2009 Edge, 6 CD changer) surprised me with a message if I wanted a report or something like that. I was so "shocked" that it took me a while to realize it. What in the world was that?
  6. Guys, The very bottom plastic piece (just below the fog lights) on my 2009 Edge front bumper is a bit frazzled and I'd like to replace it. I tried to look it up but I don't even know how this thing is called. Can someone tell me the name of it? Is it available as a single part? Thanks, Ed
  7. Thanks a lot, I guess this is the way to go. I'll try that.
  8. Thanks for the input. I have tried a hair dryer and. as you said, it's not hot enough. The thing is, the damage is not really a dent it's more like cuff and the bumper is just a little bit out of shape. If it were metal, I could hammer it into shape from the outside, sand it and paint it over. I have attached a pic.
  9. I don't think it's a fold down unit. I just checked the Crutchfield website again and they say this units fits. I don't need Sync and I am aware that I need additional hardware for the steering wheel controls. Just want to make sure that it fits exactly the dash without unsightly gaps.
  10. I'm finally ready to replace this old head unit. While researching the Internet I found hundreds of double-din units. Most of them look like they come from the same manufacturing plant somewhere in China. I have narrowed my search down to this Unit: Pioneer AVH-201EX and I am wondering if anyone has any experience (good or bad) with it? Thanks.
  11. Thanks for the video, I'll check it out over the weekend.
  12. Just to report back, I installed the AVS Bugflector II, looks good. I drilled some holes through the underside and screwed it on pretty good. For good measure, I added 5 bumper stoppers that fitted exactly between the hood top and the deflector (about 20 mm high) to prevent any rattling at all. I haven't been through a car wash yet. Thanks again for all the input. Ed
  13. You were right, this was not the kind of advice I was looking for but thanks anyway.
  14. Hi, The front bumper of my 2009 Edge has a slight ding. A body shop wanted $1000 to fix it, way too much. I bought the paint and clear coat paint and I'd like to do it myself. Someone told me that the bumper plastic has a memory. If I'd heat with a hair dryer, it would pop back into its original shape. Another guy said that a "normal" hair dryer wouldn't get hot enough, I'd need a heat gun but then the paint would melt. Does anyone have any experience with that?
  15. I used to own a 2007 Edge with the DVD player in the roof. The car is totaled and the only thing I have left is the DVD remote and the 2 infrared headphones, never used. Anyone interested? Ed Wimberley, TX
  16. OK, I'll check at my local ACE hardware store. Thanks again.
  17. What about spraying the connectors inadvertently? Would that screw up the electrics under the seat?
  18. OK, didn't know about the dry lube stuff. Sounds like the way to go. Thanks a lot. Ed
  19. I have finally figured out why the memory seat doesn't work overnight but during the day. The difference is the key lock/unlock feature. We never lock the car overnight so we never have to unlock it in the morning. Unlocking is required to "identify" the key.
