  1. Almost all modern badges are held on with double sided adhesive foam tape. The trick to getting them off, is to use fishing line or dental floss, to cut through the foam. Then remove any excess foam, and then use an adhesive remover like Goo-Gone to get rid of the adhesive residue. The only unknown factor here is if Ford decided to use alignment holes behind the emblem, but if you are putting on a new emblem that should not be a problem.
  2. I see no one has mentioned the fuel pump as a possible source of the whine. Just a thought for another place to try and isolate the noise. Since if it happens with the radio off, I would doubt the radio is the source. Any ways good luck tracking it down, and please keep everyone updated.
  3. I think waiting till first oil change is very reasonable of you, but I would make sure you document them with the dealer as soon as possible. Congratulations, and welcome back to the Ford family, hope you are pleased enough to stay, and bring others with you.
  4. Also larger wheels with lower profile tires, should provide some more feel, due to the reduced sidewall flex. Hopefully those that have made the change to larger wheels already, will chime in with their results.
  5. Good looking rims, very very snazzy, they really set it off. And congratulations on figuring out the whole uploading pictures thing, stuff like that always drives me nuts.
  6. According to page 11 of the brochure it is a standard feature on all models. http://www.fordvehicles.com/assets/pdf/bro...e%20Cat_NAV.pdf
  7. The sad truth is, that even though alot of people would not have any issue with, the alleged problems listed by Consumer Reports. The only way Ford can make a big come back, is to listen to and change things listed as problems, by the American car hating whiners at Consumer Reports. Because most of people that read their rag know even less about cars than those writing it.
  8. My first thought would be take it back to dealer, tell them you did not notice the water spots, and you would like them to detail it like it should have been the first time. Chances are they will be more than happy to do it, and keep you a happy customer.
  9. I have followed the Edge from the beginning, and have never seen any review, or article that mentioned 20" wheels. The only place I have ever seen 20" wheels mentioned by Ford was when the Edge had it's own webpage, and even then it was listed under possible future options. So maybe you could provide links to these reviews, so we all could enjoy them.
  10. I may be Crazy, but I think both of those blue colors stink. The light one is too pale and just blah, and the dark one is just too darn dark. When I think of a blue for the trendy, bold, in your face Edge, I am seeing something more like this. And in case anyone is wondering, that is the 2008 Focus, so Ford does know how to make a good blue.
  11. I think some of you are being a little harsh, with those that are not getting as good of mileage, as posted on the sticker. One thing no one has mentioned, in the U.S. the EPA mandates different grades of fuel based on measured air quality. So in areas of lower air quality, you get fuel that pollutes less per gallon, but require more gallons to travel the same distance. (How that is better I have no clue, as I'm not the EPA.) And for those that live or fuel up in or near industrialized areas, maybe by finding out the EPA air ratings for the surrounding areas, you may be able to find better fuel within or near your normal sphere of driving. Just a thought. And to those posting the MPG that the computer says, maybe you could also post actual, hand calculated figures as well. Happy motoring to all.
  12. I for one think that is a great idea, cause personally I think the painted wheel is a better looking design. I think everyone would probably also be interested how much chroming would cost. Again right on if the chromer does a good job, I'm betting it will look great, and maybe even start a trend.
  13. Looks good, after seeing the before and after shots, it really is quite a big difference. Keep up the mods, and of course posting pics for everyone to check out.
  14. Those wheels are looking real nice, and the choice of tire size is also right on, almost exact height of stockers. Any plans to lower it, or maybe pimp up the calipers, with the paint made for brake calipers? http://www.stylinconcepts.com/parts.aspx?p...paint|685034237
  15. What is it you don't find accurate, no one has said they wont fit, only that Ford does not offer it on FWD. And that is correct, just go to http://www.fordvehicles.com/ and check, it's just like Ford not offering fog lights on SE trim models.
  16. I think those wheels look real nice. But a couple of things, first off stock tires are 245/60/18=9.65" X 29.58", not 265/60/18=10.43" X 30.51". Of course all numbers are if tires were built to exact size standards, which very few are. So you are wanting to go from a 245 about 9.65" wide, to a 305 about 12" wide, that is a lot of rubber. And if you have AWD, you will want the same size tires all around. Even if it is FWD, I think you would be better going with same size all around, so you will still be able to rotate them.
  17. Here is a good site with lots of metric conversion tools, and as luck would have it they just added fuel economy conversion. I keep this site in my favorites very useful. http://www.sciencemadesimple.com/conversions.html
  18. Sounds like Toyota stole the tail gate assist torsion spring idea from from the 2004 and up F-150.
  19. That is an interesting question, on the Lincoln site, it says the hitch and 4 pin plug. On the Ford site is says, oil cooler, bigger radiator, bigger battery, upgraded cooling fans, as well as hitch and 4 pin plug. Maybe the MKX already has some of those upgades. As far as options being cheaper, the Vista roof costs more on the MKX, go figure.
  20. Agreed, and all Ford has to do is bring the 4 door model sold in most of the world, over to North America and it would be good to go. It even has a nice 3.0L turbo diesel, how sweet is that. http://www.worldcarfans.com/news.cfm/newsI...lian-motor-show
  21. I like how they used a 1-10 rating scale, and the Edge rated higher than class average in most catagories. Too bad more reviewers could not be as objective.
  22. Actually it comes on the ultimate package, for almost $3,000 less.
  23. I have a really crazy idea, pick up the phone and call your insurance agent and talk to them. On a different note, if you are spending the money on a new car, why not get what you want. When I spend that much money I never settle, would you not be happier getting exactly what you want.
  24. Well I went to look at the Edge my local dealer got in, the only one of eleven the inventory search said they have. And the dealer had it marked up $5,000 over MSRP, so until they get more in and they stop price gouging, I wont be getting one. Because at MSRP it is a pretty good deal, but sure as hell not worth an extra $5,000. Congrats to all that get one, it was even better in person than I thought it would be.
  25. Well it happened I went by my local Ford dealer today, and they had an Edge SEL Plus in carbon metallic. It was dark and cold, so I did not get to look at it much, they should have it inside tomorrow and I will look better. But I did notice this one did not have ventilated rotors, maybe the dealer will retro fit, I will check that tomorrow also. I forgot to mention I'm in Anchorage Alaska.
