Ridiculous! Ridiculous I tell you. The attention this truck gets is ridiculous. Its also cool, and yeah fun too. We were at dinner tonight and the Edge was parked outside my window so I had a direct eye shot of it. I saw everyone walking by looking and pointing, stopping and staring, and even a few (yes at least three) cell phone photos snapped. I got yelled at by my Wife for staring out at the truck, so I might have missed a few gawkers, but seriously, as a car guy I love this.

Questions About Adding Homelink to Sport
Edgieguy replied to hunter4814's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
$100? Cheaper? Find out how many he would be willing to order? -
Very nice way to mix things up a bit. You certainly wont have a run of the mill Sport!

Driver Entry Settings
Edgieguy replied to Edgieguy's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
Okay, so I changed the settings allowing me to unlock all doors with first touch. This should help when I'm carrying the little guy and we need to unlock his backdoor. -
Driver Entry Settings
Edgieguy replied to Edgieguy's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
Okay I'll try that. Thanks, knew I saw it somewhere...just couldn't find it again when I actually wanted to try and change the settings. My Wife's Lexus allows you to walk up and touch any door and that door unlocks. I was just wondering if our Edge is like that. -
I haven't run any of the tires you specifically mention, but I believe Nitto is a great brand. They've spent a lot of $$$ in their R&D and are making some really great tires. I run Nitto NEO-GEN's on my Toyota MR2 Turbo and those tires have lasted through a few track sessions, and lots of daily driving. They're super quiet tires, very responsive, and aggressively priced to boot. A friend who owns a performance shop turned me onto them and he said that across their entire line his customers have really been pleasantly surprised by NIttos.

2011 Sport With the Driver Entry Package... Are the drivers side and passengers side front doors the only ones that will unlock with the proximity key? I'm not having luck opening the rear doors... are there no sensors in the rear handles? OR Do I need to find a menu and change the programing? Just wondering if anyone has noticed this yet?

Moving from my 2008 Limited to my 2011 Sport there seem to lots of things to cheer about. Here's a few of my favorite improvements 1. Firmer and more controlled ride. I thought the 2008 was a great ride...until I spent time driving the 2011. Whatever they improved, they did a great job. Riding on 22's I expected a harsh crashing ride, so pleasantly surprised... thrilled even. 2. Transmission. Unlike the ride in my 2008, the trans was never a high point with me. The 2008 felt disjointed, shifts weren't smooth, and often times the trans would hunt for a second and then slam into gear (very unsettling). This new 6 speed trans is smooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooth! I love it. 3. Power. 305 Horsepower feels great. When you combine it with the taller gearing of the Sport it works well. Hey, listen, we all know the Sport isnt a Sports car but its no slouch with get up and go anymore. Again, I thought my 2008 felt good, the 2011 just feels great. The fact that im already averaging 18.3MPG at 400 miles is nice too. 4. New dash, door interiors. finally a clean design language from Ford. The textures and finishes in my 08 Limited were all over the map. Smooth, rough, pebbled, stainless steel, rubber, leather.... Geez I hoped someone would get fired for that lousy combination, looks like someone did and who ever stepped into their place did a nice job. 5. Quieter. I came from a 2005 Escape, went into a 2008 limited and thought it was as quiet as a Lexus. Then after a year and half I coated the doors and floors with quietcar viscoelastic spray. WOW I thought that was quiet! 2011? Yea even quieter. 6. New exterior design. My 2008 was different and cool. Made me think of that movie TRON. Something kinda spacey. most used phrase when people see my new Edge? BADASS! I like Badass a lot more than spacey. Here's to hoping that the MyTouch will begin working as well as SYNC did in my 2008. Its off to a rough start, but I understand the bugs need to be worked out. I like the interface so far, and the only problem im experiencing is not being able to get my bluetooth audio streaming Pandora. I have 6 months of free Sirius radio to pacify me so im not to bad off, after that I hope they have this problem figured out.

New Maintenance Package included for all 11's
Edgieguy replied to richy's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
My dealership actually gave me a card which entitles me to free service for the first 3 years of ownership. This came out after my purchase when I gave my salesman and his manager PBA (Policeman's Benevolent Association) cards (For those outside of the NY/NJ/PA area its basically a get out of jail free card that's presented along with your credentials if you're ever stopped for speeding or some other traffic infraction. Anyway....free oil changes? Ill take it. So I think dealerships have a lot of latitude in giving away free stuff like this -
Maybe Im not understanding you correctly, I keep hearing you blame the cell phone manufacturers for not implementing bluetooth correctly, but my phone worked perfectly with my 2008 LImited SYNC system, a day later I pick up my 2011 and it no longer works with SYNC? How is my phone to blame when Bluetooth audio is not playing now?

I'm wondering if the Canadian Edge's come with something as simple as an extra fuse in the large fuse box under the hood? Maybe someone from Canada can take a photo of their large fues box and we can compare it to a similarly equipped US version? Maybe we can figure out if its just a fuse?

Ditto^ FOR SALE!
-
Wow, I'm glad I didn't order. We thought we would order, then found a White Sport close by. It had more than we wanted in it, and when my Wife told the dealer we'd wait till one arrived without the "extras" he simply crossed off the package prices, looked at her (as if to call her bluff) and said Okay do we have a deal now? We relied YES and signed. Drove it Thursday, talked about it Friday, took it Saturday. It will be well worth the wait, you'll love it. Here's hoping that you get your truck real soon.

My Edge Got Broken Into
Edgieguy replied to TheCount's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
Sorry to here that. As a detective I deal with this everyday and I can say that its tough. I hate seeing people who have had their private property/space invaded. I hope that your new Edge is back to new very soon. -
All oils have come a long way with the use of additives but i was informed a few years back. By a chemist that the properties inherent in synthetic oils make them far superior to standard oils in the way they handle temperature extremes. I made the choice years ago to use full synthetic oils in all my vehicles. Search Google, do some reading and see what you think.

Comments on non HID Lights
Edgieguy replied to juanjob's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Switch it out. If something fries put back the OEM components and feign ignorance. -
I'm on my dealers first tank of gas and I'm averaging 17.9 MPG. Id say 80%/20% hiway to surface streets, and a short commute of 15 miles each way, so the truck doesn't run at optimal temps for very long. Happy so far since my 2008 was only marginally better on gas. Of course this Sport has far superior handling and outrageous looks so the trade off is minimal. UPDATE: Second tank of gas showed 18.3MPG from the computer. Third tank, 18.6MPG (computer seems dead on) Fourth tank, 19.0MPG. Mind you I still haven't broken 1K miles and I haven't been hard on the gas either.

Seriously thought about getting out of the Edge (2008) and just getting a 2011 Camaro. After seeing and reading about the 11 Edge Sport for the past few months, my mind changed. Now after driving it for the past few days Im convinced I made the right choice for me. Its definitely sporty. Im not sure if I would have been satisfied with a sports sedan, or a sports car, but I am satisfied with this Edge. And since it uses the Mustang motor, my best friend is interested in tinkering with add ons to improve the HP numbers (ill keep everyone posted) Until then I will continue to enjoy the stares wherever I roam.:stats:

Driving after remote start
Edgieguy replied to Kitkatt's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
LOL female problem? then whats my excuse, cause I shut the car off everytime after autostart, and yes you need to "restart" the car when you enter.
