I think the smartest option for Ford would have been to beef up the front end and trans components, and offer a true Sport version or Edge SHO with the 3.5 EcoBoost, paddles, and hell make it AWD only to handle the output. I wouldve paid for a 360HP monster in the same dress as my 2011 Sport.

I think I might of ruined some sales this past weekend at our local toyota dealership. I parked our brand new white ford edge sport in front of the front doors of the dealership while we walked in to look at the highlander for my wife. With my dealer plates still attached people walked around my truck in the parking lot before and after walking into the dealership. When one of the salesman made a smart remark about my ford edge I offered to take him for a test ride that would blow him away. He declined, saying he's not interested. I made sure to tell him that he should be very interested in the competition because the competition is very strong, and that I wouldn't trade my edge for any other SUV. I guess we'll have to find a new toyota dealership now.

Love my new 2011 Sport. Sorry, Cant seem to explain that enough these days. Anyway, I noticed that since the tires are so wide, and fill the wheel well so thoroughly that they tend to splash a lot of road grime onto the rocker panels and lower door covers. I was looking at universal mud flaps / splash guards and realized that I had two brand new Mazda truck rear mud guards in my garage... for about 8 years. I traced the shape of the flap that I would need onto a piece of cardboard, transferring the location of the two screws that mount the front rocker panel filler. I reversed the mud flap so you cannot read the Mazda Logo, I then cut it to the shape of the stencil. Once they were mounted with the existing screws, they offer protection for the lower body panels and they're virtually invisible from the rear because of the way they blend against the front tire. If I had two more, I would have made a set for the rear. Cost? Free.

Believe it. I can't believe I'm seeing the same problem 3years later on a revamped vehicle.

This is the part number for the lower grill. Part #8200E Grill Ford Series ST Version ; Paint to Match $117.05 The chrome grill is the same part number but more expensive at $174. The dealer would probably spray the part for minimum since they'd have the matching paint in stock already. My dealer told me they'd shoot it for $50, if I had the part. But I dont know if i wanna spend 175 to get rid of two small holes...

When you're picking up your new edge have your salesman run you through all of the features that the car performs. It's something isn't working correctly ask a salesman about it. Were all dealing with some of the bugs in the ford my touch system, but I think that's to be expected with new technology.

My 2008 came from mahwah, when I began shopping for my 2011 sport I went to paramus. I had no luck with that dealership. Hope your experience is better than mine with Mahwah Ford.

My 2008 with 20" wheels, was getting 17.3-17.8 in regular short trips (under 15 miles) with the recommended 10k break in miles . My new 2011 Sport with the 3.7L and 22" wheels is already getting 18.3-18.9 with only 400+ miles on it. Am I happy? Sure am!

I had this issue on my 2008. If I looked into the side view mirror, I could see that the window / door trim did not align properly. It appeared that my driver door was ajar when it was actually closed. after 3 trips to the dealer they could not align the trim and / or door any better. it was a lease so I lived with it. Now on my 2011 Sport I see the same issue. Its not as bad, but its still there. I'll probably address this with the dealer when I return to find out about these mystery "Complimentary wheel locks for my Sport wheels" and to get the MyTouch software update. Anyone else notice that the trim on their driver side door is not aligned perfectly?

I like that 3D Map, but unfortunately they show features the way toy companies show toys, in an artificial environment. Touch will get better

I asked my dealer about splash guards/ mud flaps for the Sport and they said they have nothing. Can you post the Ford Part number for the 2011 Sport Splash guard / mud flap you purchased?

Yep like the title says, Front License Plate Holder Removal. My 2011 Sport came with a big ole' chunk of plastic riveted through the front bumper and I just couldn't see fit to put a license plate up there, so....... I took it off. Wasn't sure if it was a screw with a rear backer or a rivet? Its a rivet. I started with small drill bits and worked my way up to a 7/32 and the whole thing fell off. It left two, you guessed it, 7/32" holes in the bumper, but after blackening the inside of the holes with a permanent ink marker, they're hardly noticeable standing a three feet away. The look is a WHOLE lot cleaner than the big plastic holder, so i'm happy. I'll keep my eyes open for any rounded buttons that might fit in there to plug the holes completely

I would contact the dealer ASAP. My 2008 would hunt for a split second then slam into a gear, it was terrible, but dealer could not reproduce it so they said it didn't exist. It was very frustrating, they claimed they never heard anything like it, and I knew I wasnt the only one having the problem. When I printed others posts, they said it was much the same as "one person crying the blues and another being sympathetic and saying the same thing!!!!" New 2011 trans is so smooth I cant believe the difference. Something is not quite right if you're new 11 is having this problem.

Ive been basically trouble free with the exception of Streaming bluetooth audio. By the way, How does one find out their build date? I got my Sport as it came off a transport truck for the dealer lot.

I actually thought this was one OEM component that was pretty good. I actually kept the mats from my 2008 since i purchased them after the vehicle figuring i'd use them in the new one, and then my 2011 came with them. Three years and they look as good as the day they were unwrapped, I guess I dont wear really abrasive shoes. I'd recommend them, if you dont like them however, their are weathertechs from McNeil which are a real quality product as well.

Edge Sport here. Picked it off a dealer lot after delivery, no waiting, and its been great since. I thought my SYNC/MyTouch was acting up and pulled the fuse once but turns out it mightve been me not SYNC/MT. Im about 400 miles into driving and everything seems great. The only issue ive had is pairing my phone to stream Bluetooth audio. With 6 month of free Sirius radio ill be okay until a patch arrives. Everything else on the truck looks great and works fine. Even played with SYNC services yesterday while driving asking for stock quotes, traffic reports, weather reports, Sports scores. Cool stuff. My buddy equated it to driving his Iphone around. I dont think youll be disappointed, the small issues will get worked out within due time.

now all you need to do is mask off the edges and paint the centers tuxedo black again, maybe no one will notice?
