  1. Tony, Good call. The AWD is absolutely great in wet weather and snow. I wouldn't want my wife to go out in foul weather with the kids without it. Yeah its great to stay home in bad weather, but we all know that's not practical, so this gives me peace of mind when its needed. I actually had the opportunity to drive my Edge through our driver training course at our police academy and I was very impressed with the wet weather grip and traction of the Edge. When the front tires began to plow in a hard lock turn while accelerating the Edge pulled right through the turn. Our Dodge chargers with stability control would brake certain wheels and correct our near skids pretty well too, but the Edge hung in there great for an SUV.
  2. Sweet looking Sport! If you need a PBA card now with that 305HP motor let me know.
  3. Pictures pictures pictures! We all love pictures here.
  4. congratulations! You are going to LOVE your Edge. We've driven everything in the class and we're stuck on the Edge. Even had a RX350 Loaner yesterday while our car was in for service and it just couldn't compare. Best of luck.

    love it, great background!
  6. since your edge was so new, did Ford take care of you on the trade in? or did you lose your shirt?
  7. Were getting out of our under mileage (25K now) 2008 limited for $19,100. on 12/29/10. Its a 3 year 36K lease. Ive decided to buy it out and resell it privately. ive been offered $24.5 from a guy I work with, so that cash defrays the cost of my lease.
  8. Thank you for the suggestion, sorry to say I could not locate that part number. When i get it, I will post it here for future reference. http://www.teamfordparts.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=getJointLocator&siteid=214270&chapter=&Sectionids=0,2276&groupid=51817&subgroupid=2617&componentid=0&make=10&model=Edge&year=2010&graphicID=MS07008&callout=9&catalogid=2&displayCatalogid=0
  9. Does anyone have the Part Numbers for the 09-10 Sport lower bumper covers for the front and rear? Ive used search over and over and found nothing and have no idea where i can find a Ford part number finder. Thanks.
  10. I was wondering if you could comment on a post of mine in the body panels/exterior section of the forums. Its regarding fitting 2011 panels onto a 2007 thats been in an accident. Id appreciate any comments you might have.

  11. I was hoping that someone from the plant who has walked through and seen the 2010's alongside the 2011's on the forums would chime in. I know that Ford changed the hood, fenders and grill and bumper. I would assume that the radiator support would have changed as well. Sine these are all the parts that he would need, I figured this would be a great opportunity, and a chance to do a write up for the forums as well. Still hoping to hear from an insider.
  12. So last night my cousin rear-ends a box truck with his Edge. The damage although it appears only cosmetic, looks like it will include a new set of fenders, grill, hood, bumper cover and radiator support. While i was trying to make him feel better about it, I suggested something silly which got me thinking.... Could he possibly replace these parts with 2011 parts and facelift his own edge? if the unibody underneath is the same, wouldnt the panels all fit? if anybody knows, drop a comment. He should have a from insurance this week and be ready for repair within two.
  13. Welcome to the boards. You'll love this truck, its really great. Cant believe the lease on my 2008 Limited is coming up in December. I too have to decide whether to buy it out for $19k or get a 2011. This time around I may opt to buy right out and load up a Sport this way I should be satisfied for the next 5-7 years.
  14. Most likely because of the 22" tires and rear spoilers. An after market tow hitch can always be customized to work with the sport for light towing im sure.
  15. Excellent information, and my thanks for taking the time to reply. I have done some additional reading and had actually thought about the thinner tire / larger wheel combo and its effect as far as load rating and believe you are totally on point. Thanks.
  16. OK, that confirms all ive read. Strange then that the Sport will not include any type of towing package... More power, More Torque, taller gearing, no tow package?
  17. Can someone explain the axle ratio of the Sport vs. the Limited? Sport is 3.39 Limited is 3.16. Will I be able to slap a hitch on the Sport and tow my 1800lb load? What would be the difference from my 2008 with its 3.16 ratio?
  18. So how close to the stated invoice pricing was your X-plan pricing? Im planning to use X-plan again as I did on the 2008. UPDATE: 11/07/10 We purchased our 2011 Sport in White with the Nav,Vision, Driver Entry, Backlit Door Sills, and Cargo Package. The MSRP was $43680. We used the X-plan which got us a price of $39879. I got a $1500, $1000, $750, $500 in rebates, and then my wife had them take off the cost for the cargo package $290, and back lit door sills $295. (she didn't care for them and said we'd just by a truck configured how we wanted). After all this, they still gave me $200 off for a program for Police Officers, and then they paid my last lease payment of $430. on my 2008.
  19. The fuse blows as soon as you put a new fuse in and turn the tails on. The problem just started. Ive trailered with this Edge since I bought it, now all of a sudden this happened. Nothing wrong with with the bulbs or sockets....
  20. Nothings been added, and like I said earlier, the wiring that tapped into the tail lights was totally disconnected in case that was the cause and apparently its not because I keep blowing fuses.... (Dumbfounded...)
  21. I need some help. My wife noticed while driving behind me that all my rear lights were out. The LED brake light worked but nothing else. I checked the fuses and #23 the tail lamp fuse was blown. I replaced the 15A fuse with a new one and that one immediately blew out. I lost two more before I totally disconnected the trailer light harness. Guess what? Didnt do a thing, and I lost two more fuses. What could be shorting out the rear lights? Both running and brake light bulbs are still good. The trailer wiring harness isnt connected and im at a loss. Am i missing another fuse somewhere? Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated.
  22. unless youre just looking for a throatier tone, and dont want to spend a few hundred bucks... Id like better tone, and could care less about a few HP. Its an SUV, Ive got a sportscar to go fast in. Ill save this one for the 2011.
