  1. So, I'm confused. Where they fixed? Do you have keyless entry? Did you try to program the key (pats) or the fob buttons (two separate programming methods).
  2. as long as you have the remote start or VSS module, you can add the remote access to it and you're good to go. At a minimum you need to have a remote start or VSS. You can keep your key.
  3. Wow! So if a wheel and gear puller are not in my tool chest, it's a trip to harbor freight.
  4. I believe it was originally believed that if your Edge had a power liftgate that the remote start (109 series/short range) antenna was included. Many owners reported that this was NOT the case (the explorer does, but apparently not the edge). So, here's your options: 1. Buy the full kit (BC3Z-19G364-A) - this includes two key fobs and short range antenna. 2. Buy the antenna only (DA8Z-15603-A) and purchase non-OEM IKTs on eBay (I went this route, in addition to my remote access kit). 3. If you do actually have the antenna already from the factory, then you only need two remote start IKT (OEM part number is DA8Z-19G364-A) or you can find non-OEM ones on eBay. You also need the hood switch (BT4Z-19G366-A). To ultimately answer your question, despite my long-winded response... yes, if you do have the RFR antenna already installed in your vehicle, you can simply buy IKTs in eBay and turn on the feature in forscan with a BT OBD adapter (or have your dealer so it via IDS).
  5. Sorry, I should have elaborated more. It's not a matter of where your edge was manufactured, it depends on where the edge was first delivered to (i.e. Canada, California, etc.). If your state has a DRL requirement and that is where your car was originally destined for, your HIDs will be on all the time (unless you convince your dealer to relocate the DRL function to your parking lights via IDS or you DIY via forscan).
  6. Any chance you have a Canadian or California edge? DRL's activated at the headlights would cause this. Note: woo! Van Halen (no, not Van Halen 3).
  7. When's the last time you had the battery evaluated? That's typically the first suspect with remote start issues affected by cold weather.
  8. Or you could all meet in the middle. 6kK. If you google any color temp, you'd see how many times "k" for kilo (1000) and "K" for Kelvin (temp) are used incorrectly. As a scientist, I can appreciate the nitpick.
  9. The remote start climate settings are independent from your cabin settings once the car is remotely started. Remote settings are designed to help you get relief (sometimes significant) from the outside environment Extremely cold outside? Lets get you warm. Extremely hot? Lets cool you down. If neither is the case, then you can have 72 degrees (something near that set point). Once you get inside is when you would start the car and fine tune the temp to your liking. The seats would need to be reactivated once you start the car. This is the same in my 2012. My pleasure. I do notice that the seats are toasty right about 8-10 minutes into a remote start (as long as the outside temp calls for them to be activated).
  10. I've been running them in my '12 since day 1 and I've been extremely happy. Same kit same bulbs, too. Having said that, Nick has been very vocal over this issue over the years. I know exactly where he is coming from. You won't get ideal performance nor lighting from HID retrofits in our halogen projectors, but, I am not hindering nor causing any danger to opposing/oncoming drivers so I am OK with my decision (retrofits in a reflector housing, however, is just a d!ck move). Ideal setup? No. Perfectly acceptable results? Yes.
  11. Just to make sure this isn't a subjective problem, be aware that the seat lights will not illuminate when remote started. So, are you noticing the seats are cold or that the light is not on? You seem certain that all the IPC menu settings are correct, so we will eliminate that as the problem. At that low of a temperature it may be hard to tell. You can try a simple fix first and reboot the sync system (remove and replace the cable bundle plug going into the mini fuse panel under the steering wheel, driver's side kick panel). Ultimately, it may require a service visit.
  12. What is the outside temp registering/displaying as on your MFT screen?
  13. The single button fobs only work with the long range antenna. If you only have the short range (RFR) antenna then your limited to the IKTs. You can always add the long range aerial antenna and a transmitter easily, without any dealership visit required! I have two knock-off remote start IKTs (still working perfectly after quite a few years) and I keep my OEM, non-remote start keys stashed away for safe keeping. You can have up to 8 IKTs/FOBs per system. IA (push button) cars are limited to 4. As long as you have two functioning key transmitters, you're always good to go, remote start or not.
  14. Your SE would have nothing from the factory. You need the VSS (also referred to as RMST/Remote Starter in older kits), RFR antenna and IKT for short range operation. If you want long range/bidirectional operation you need to add a long range aerial antenna and corresponding key fob. For smart phone operation you can add the remote access unit and pay the $50/year. You also need a hood switch for any of the aforementioned options. You may even need the wiring for it, but you'll have to check. Have a look at kits and part numbers in the OP and feel free to ask away.
  15. Under remote start climate settings, make sure you have it set to "auto". This will ensure the heated seats come on when it is that cold outside.
  16. As far as a I know (which isn't saying much), you cannot activate (in IDS) an OEM remote starter without a hood switch. You'll still need the RFR/short range antenna (the long rectaangular one) for key fob remote start functionality.
  17. I can't imagine you don't need to install the hood switch and antenna, at a minimum.
  18. Did you reboot/restart the sync system? You can always remove and reinsert the cable bundle that goes into the fuse panel in the driver's kick panel under the steering wheel. I've done this many times without issue. System will reboot itself ("perform maintenance").
  19. Did you enable remote start in the BCM first? You won't see the line in ICP if you haven't.
  20. Why do you have an OEM remorse start keyfob? Was it included with your vehice? If all you want is to use your factory fob (which will have short range, 100-300'), then you need the following components: Hood Pin - BT4Z-19G366-A VSS - FT4Z-19A361-A (this is the remote starter, you don't need another "module") RFR Antenna - DA8Z-15603-A Additionally, you could also add the remote access module and use your cell phone. This was written in the links I sent you.
  21. You should be able to use the key fob you have. Once you install the remote starter and re-program the fob, the remote start button will be functional. Here's some additional remote start information: http://www.paulmachenry.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/Scalable%20APP%20Guide%202017.pdf http://www.paulmachenry.com/documents/Hero/Electronics/ABT-4528%20Ford%20Remote%20Start%20Apps_Oct%202015.pdf
