  1. No mine's not quite that bad and it's not the same sound...I'm leaning strongly towards a vacuum leak. It sounds like a air leak when stepping on the gas. Almost like I have a diesel engine haha but we'll see...It seems pretty common with the F-150s and they came up with vacuum leak also so I'm hoping it's just that and nothing too serious...
  2. Well the problem is back....not so much a rattle now but a weird growl instead. It even makes the noise when I start the car so I have no idea what's going on...the noise seems to be associated with the revs of the engine. I'm having it looked at next Friday by a family mechanic...car will be in body shop this week getting a new front bumper. I will update once I know what's going on.
  3. Finally got around to painting the calipers. Didn't have the time or tools to take the wheels off so I just covered the necessary spokes that were near the calipers and painted through the gaps. Luckily the new wheels have more space than the stock wheels. Turned out pretty good for the first time I've ever done this to any car...some mistakes but not visible from a few feet away so that's all that matters. I think it looks good...went with G2 Caliper Paint Kit. Would definitely take the wheels off for future applications so it's not as tedious.
  4. They're really not that crazy...they look really good at night and give some good light when approaching the car. They definitely don't look gaudy or anything though...I just purchased and installed them recently. I'm really happy with the purchase and would recommend them highly.
  5. Added some new fog lights today. Went with the Morimoto 5k XB LED fogs lights from TRS. Really happy with how they turned out, pure white light and gives me a wider range of light when needed. Also gives the car a better look too. Got the Edge washed over the weekend so it looks really good right now. Had a few minutes at night to capture a few pictures with all the new LED upgrades complete.
  6. Yeah I taped off the SYNC emblem as I wanted to keep it looking as stock as possible...Just ordered G2 Caliper paint today, hoping that comes in quickly so I can get the calipers painted before I leave town for a week.
  7. Not trying to flood the thread or anything but got some pictures of the painted dash by the shifter, LED trunk light and LED license plate lights today. The trunk light has great output and will definitely help during the summer when driving more at night and taking some road trips. License plate lights didn't change much except for the color but that's mostly what I was going for...and the painted dash is just awesome. Looks much better with the color scheme of the interior and got rid of that terrible glare that can blind you. Looking to paint dash trim around stereo when I have some free time.
  8. From the album: 08 Black Edge SEL

Big difference with respect to sun glare after painting the trim with a black satin finish paint. No more "hot spot" glare off of the trim
  9. Thanks guys. I'm really happy with how the rims look. I think it will look even better when I get a chance to paint the calipers red as well...just waiting on consistent warm weather up here in Cleveland...Definitely happy with all the upgrades so far, they're small but make a cool difference IMO. I'm currently looking into some options for LED turn signals and fog lights so hopefully that will be happening soon!
  10. I would also like to see pictures of those...I've been looking at options for this lately.
  11. So finally got some pictures of some of the lights and the rims with the red stars installed. Couldn't get a good picture of the LED reverse lights but they look nice. Didn't get one of the LED license plate lights either....I did get the puddle lights though and the trunk light too. Pictures below... I'm happy with all of the LED upgrades so far, no problems and the light looks great especially the puddle lights. Got an oil change today and had some oil system cleaner run through the system as well. Used some Techron Full Fuel System Cleaner this week too so the Edge is all ready for summer! Have to clean the inside and outside tomorrow as we're supposed to have a decent day here in Cleveland, OH.
  12. That's what they hinted at...I couldn't see when I got on the ground and looked underneath the car. They said something could have just gotten stuck and the wind was blowing against it as I was driving. My thought is that it can't be all that serious if the issue has gone away for over 4 days and for over a couple hundred miles of driving on the highway but we'll see...Thanks for the help.
  13. Update: So shockingly the noise went away right before I took it in. Decided to still drop it off anyways to get it checked out just in case...they checked heat shield, whole exhaust system for leaks, etc. Nothing. Haven't heard the noise since or had any problems so hopefully it was just a freak thing. Plus the shop didn't charge me for looking at it for about 30 min so all is well.
  14. Haha yeah I don't need to debate about which filters are the best, performance, etc. I only got the AEM filter so I could reuse it instead of getting new ones every year...and the cabin air filter was bad....most of it was dark grey and my fiancé even noticed an instant change it the smell after having the A/C running so that's always a plus. Will have pictures and review of lights posted one day this week if I get a day with good weather.
  15. Installed DTBL puddle lights, DTBL license plate LEDS, Reverse light LEDs, Trunk light LED, OEM cabin air filter and also an AEM DryFlow air filter. Also painted the portion of the dash with the cupholders this week. Will be painting the part by the stereo this week hopefully...Also getting the red stars for my KMC 775s this week too so I'll be updating with photos of everything after I'm all done.
  16. Awesome man thanks. I'll update after this weekend, hopefully with an answer and fix.
  17. No, nothing hit underneath in a long time. Just driving on crappy roads in Cleveland, Ohio....is anything you mentioned very expensive to fix? I've never really had any big problems other than routine stuff
  18. I recently noticed that there is a loud rattle when I press the gas pedal (while in park or moving) and it sounds like it is coming from the exhaust piping in the middle (at connection of front and back doors) of the car, underneath. I had my buddy take a look under there and nothing seems to be visibly shaking but it's loud enough to hear while driving with the radio on....almost sounds like I'm driving a freaking go-cart around town. Just wondering if anyone has encountered the same thing or may have some insight....taking it to a local muffler place that my buddy has gone to a lot with his old car, but I don't want to get ripped off since I don't know exactly what's wrong. Anything will help, thanks.
  19. I'm selling both of my OEM puddle lights off of my 08 EDGE SEL. I upgraded to the DTBL puddle lights and no longer need these. I have them posted on eBay where you can see pictures and also can contact me through there. I'm open to debating on the price. Just looking to get a little money back. Reasonable price for those who need a replacement or want to do a cool Puddle Light project. They are fully functional. Thanks http://www.ebay.com/itm/171753135173?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  20. I believe multiple people installed them on here and a few may have made installation videos...just search DTBL DRL tube install and you should get something...
  21. I did purchase the Puddle lights for my 08 Edge and license plate LEDs were included with them. They are awesome! Bright white light and easy install for both.
