  1. I see roof rails listed under 2015 Ford Edge on Fordparts.com, so it is possible they are available. Look up the LevittownFordSuperCenter thread and post your request in there to Benny, he'll know for sure.
  2. Ungo, the door latch switch can be a DIY job, there are HOW TO videos/writeups on that. The shift lever also looks to be doable DIY based on the '07 FSM. Otherwise a competent service shop should be able to get these repairs done less expensively.
  3. Welcome, glad to see another '15 Edge owner join our little community! Put up some pics of both your rides when you can Many happy adventures with the Edge!
  4. Welcome to the community, SoCalGlide, and congrats on the '14 SEL! Looks sharp, hope it gives your family reason to smile everyday
  5. Too bad Ford can't figure it out either. I did see that a leaking fuel rail was the cause on an F150 having the problem. Does it happen with the MAX A/C on also, carbonedge? Tires do make a difference. You tend to forget what a vehicle handles like, until you put new ones on
  6. Horsepower = (Torque x RPM)/5252 It's an interplay of transmission gear ratios, final drive ratio, tire size that determine topspeed and acceleration. For anyone that wants to understand a bit more about this: http://rubydist.com/Family/Power.html Torque is king for all practical purposes.
  7. Congrats on the new Edge, great to hear of the service the '08 provided. Good luck, post some pics of the new ride
  8. Nothing on the websites of the tire retailers that you like? Or is the package you are looking at a really good deal?
  9. I'm sure they could grab a museum piece with less age on it than yours.
  10. Anything to keep you in the game Maybe even another MG production lol ...
  11. i don't know why that BG service center said that, they should have serviced the PTU at your request anyway. If they were trying to save you money, OK, but otherwise ??? I would talk to them again and find out why, if you don't feel comfortable at that point, better to hold off or find a good mechanic to exchange the fluid. The process is not difficult, as long as the Edge is up on jackstands or a lift.
  12. Good choice, looking forward to your comments.
  13. Just remember to set your alignment to look like the axles broke ...
  14. So I expect you will be GoPro'ing the entire sideways/drifting action?
  15. Welcome to the forum, Scott, congrats on the '12 EB! A lot of long-distance travel in your future? Would love to see pics of both your rides, and good luck!!!
  16. The brake problems are more than just air in the system, cv27, a vacuum loss at the very least (hiss). Sounds more like a master cylinder problem (soft pedal) which is possibly combined with a small booster issue (normally a hard pedal). Checked the brake fluid level and vac hose to the booster? Maybe the fluid is just dirty, which makes it compressible, which makes for a soft pedal as well. A brake flush would take care of that issue.
  17. COPs can be very expensive! Used to be able to buy a set of wires and a coil for less than the price of 1 OEM COP. As far as aftermarket, I have often heard good things about the COPs available from a seller called alanisdeals on eBay.
  18. Best wishes indeed, Xda, this is a tough situation, hope it works out for the best!
  19. Hope that pesky CEL remains asleep, nice work! Yeah, interesting about the warning on the shield. Wonder how many mechanics have actually used it as a jack point? Hmmm ...
  20. GM had issues with their coils cracking because of aging plastic, though sadly, they are not the only mfr with this problem. Apparently it has hit even Porsche! What brand replacement parts did you use? Sometimes you HAVE to go OEM even at the cost
  21. You've summed up a lot of people's frustrations in one swoop, XdaX67. The vehicle you get back (when you get it back) will not be in nearly the same condition as it was when you had to "turn it in" for the recall. Providing a rental does help to some degree, but it is certainly not acceptable fix when your vehicle is left out in the elements day after day. Now if appropriate storage and maintenance precautions are taken in the meanwhile, I would find that acceptable. I don't think you can press people on their credit situation, akirby, that is a hot potato IMHO. Could easily be through no fault of their own. The turbulent economy the last few years has put a lot of people practically on the street that normally wouldn't be. And try replacing a vehicle like the Edge which you bought for say, $18,000, for family use, and now have to replace with an Escape or Focus. Nobody deserves to be crammed in like sardines. Used car prices are also higher than they used to be due to the shortage created by the Cash for Clunkers program. So are people feeling squeezed? Mightily so.
  22. Couldn't agree more, though how much success you will have will depend on your personal fortitude. Battery, oil, fluids, brakes, drivetrain, all will be subject to close inspection before next startup, not to mention body condition.
