  1. The mirror glass with a blindspot mirror is relatively cheap, easy to retrofit (if youread the posts fully)and works well. Saves a lot of aggravation and close calls! If not sure, start with the driver's side first. That's the worst blind spot IMO.
  2. There is a lot of junk out there. There are also reliable suppliers and resources available to protect consumers. I'm not an aftermarket hid fan, but there are well designed kits available. You can't go wrong following Lex's lead. I should name my Edge "Lex" for all the mods I "copied" following his research!
  3. That is why I took my dash apart twice looking for the source. I washed everything including the blades in 10% bleach. My car smelled like bleach for a couple of weeks. Last June we had major flooding in parts of the midwest. My guess is the product was from a contaminated warehouse. After I realized the blades were the source, I removed the blades and soaked them in bleach in a doubled trashbag for a day, but could still smell the odor through the bag! I e-mailed the manufacturer who never got back to me.
  4. Sure! The wipers, by the way were the windshield wiper blades. The mold was in the rubber. A set I picked up for my son's Escape the same day also were moldy. As for the filter...open the glovebox door. Once fully openyou will need to press on the upper back or side to allow the door to swing further. The tab restaining it is obvious. There is a spring tensioned cable which needs to be released to allow a full swing. This will allow access to a door covering the filter. This is much easier than it sounds! It takes less than a minute and requires no tools.
  5. Stange! (I do know how to spell button)
  6. I've fooled with these seats for more than a year. They are finicky and often lose memory or return to the wrong position. The bottuns lose memory or change. Key dependency is erratic. My wife and I have reset them numerous times. She has a masters degree in computer science. We have had memory seats in Audi, VW, Mercedes, Lexus and Acura. None show these problems. I really like the Edge, but there is a software glitch. My dealer is great, but this has them stumped. It is not the directions or the user. It is the memory system!
  7. Thank you! I'm ordering the '09 vents and will report on cost and ease of installation. My dealer thought it was easy to do. edit Installed this weekend. Very easy. My wife loves the positive air flow shutoff. The '07 and '08's have no way to close the center vents. The vertical vents look better as well. Cost $40 each for the center vents. $27 and $30. for the outer vents. Ask for a discount!
  8. Would an '09 owner check if the '09 center vents shut-off all air flow. Mt wife's #1 complaint is that she can't stop air flow on her side only on our '08. Your help is appreciated
  9. I installed the ones from Sportwing (without chrome). Easy and very nice. Great paint match.
  10. Lex is right. Easy install if you carefully read the thread. New mirror is great!
  11. I agree. I replaced the filter when I bleached the system. After the wipers were replaced, the smell was instantly gone. It has not returned. The wipers are ripening in my back yard!
  12. I had a heavy mold smell in the a/c. Stunk up the garage in just a few hours. The dealer took apart every thing and cleaned the system. When it didn't help, I spent a saturday doing the same. The day the odor started was the same day I replaced the wipers. That seamed an unlikely source, but when I pulled the wipers off the smell went away. I replaced the wipers. Nothing removed the odor from the blades. We had flooding last June. My guess is they were in a local warehouse and got wet.
  13. My Edge was in the shop 2 days ago for a mold odor in the a/c. I was told that the '08 does not have a cabin filter.
  14. I got the same antenna. Works fine. Looks great. My wife noticed reduced fm sensitvity where she works - which is 1/2 mile from a bunch of tv and fm towers.
  15. I got the stubby for my wife's car from that site. Looks great. Only reception issue is when the car is near the television tower "farm" in Glendale, WI. And Lex...I really appreciate your posts. Great ideas and good pictures. Even though I'm a 58 year old extra white wisconsin guy I enjoyed your rap link. Thanks for help!
  16. I installed a set of Sportwing moldings last weekend. Great product and paintmatch.
  17. Appreciate the response...but my problem is not with key association but intermittent function and loss of memory at the door mounted switch. It's not that it doesn't work, but that it doesn't work consistently. HELP! And, I don't think you are rude. The search function should always precede a new topic.
  18. My seat memory is possessed. Sometimes the seat does not return when the key is placed in the ignition (usually if the power hatch is opened before the door). Sometimes the memory button loses it's memory. Any thoughts?
  19. Thanks! A lot of good ideas. At your suggestion, the dealer is checking. My wife is still playing with seat height, tilt and lumbar adjustment.
  20. My new Edge is great. My wife who is 4'11" is having problems comfortably reaching the pedals. Can the dealer adjust them? If not, is there a safe aftermarket extension? It is an '08 Limited.
  21. Nav suppliment is not on that site. This is harder than it should be. Ford's "Sale Prevention Department" is still fully staffed. Time to visit Acura.
