  1. Hi, can you confirm if sync updates are different within different countries ? I have seen people in this forum mention the latest update (which I do not have), but sync my ride and my dealership tells me that I have the latest one. When I told my dealer about the update, they said that some updates are not available outside of the united states, which is surprising. I am in Canada and own a 2011 Edge SEL with MFT. Thank You
  2. Surfer1, wow, very sorry for you, thanks for the feedback. I was about to get a thule rack for this summer (not going with the way of the screws this set up requires), I guess I will have to find another way of carrying my windsurfing board. I like the ideas of the Rola 59110 for carrying general stuff though, good find.
  3. Just to let everyone knows, I had the same issue (2011 Edge SEL) and the dealer lubrified the track system and it has worked perfectly fine since then. My guess is that it does require some regular lubrification. Be careful though as the dealer is quick to propose a motor replacement, which is really costly. Here is what happened to me: First time at dealer, they lubricate the tracks, problem was not fixed, I am told to book a two day appointment to disassemble the roof, check the motor and possibly replace it. (vehicle was still under warranty) I bring the car in for the two day appointment, the car is ready in a few hours, they lubricated something else (rear track maybe?), problem is solved. Obviously this was under warranty, if I would have been paying for the repair, they may have skipped the lubrification process and charged me for the entire job. As far as the recall goes, I agree that recalls are for safety purposes. Although, other car company, such as Honda, have been good enough to recognize when a defect is present and provided free repairs. This happened to my friends CR-V, which had to replace his air conditioning compressor, and later received a letter from Honda with financial compensation.
  4. Are you talking about the crunching noise that snow make when driven over in cold temperature? When it get really cold here in Canada, I can practically hear people drive in my driveway just by the crunching noise that the snow make. Like it was mentioned before, snow build up in the wheel wells will also make noise if it frozen solid and it by the turning wheels Assuming that you are experiencing a mechanical noise. The best thing to do would be to find an empty parking lot with slippery conditions (ice, snow) and force your vehicle to slip and engage the traction control to characterize the noise.
  5. The 2015 Ford Edge as been spotted in camouflage. Spy shots and information are available at the following link: http://www.caranddriver.com/news/2015-ford-edge-spy-photos-news According to the article: "Ford is on the edge of revealing the redesigned model at the L.A. auto show next month."
  6. Update, my Edge was in the dealer yesterday, supposedly to disassemble the roof and figure out the issue. They have fixed the issue but according to them they only cleaned and lubed the sliders. The roof is working fine now. I am really not sure if they replaced things without telling me or if this will solve the issue in the long run. An interesting fact is that they quoted that to confirm the roof is operating properly it must close in under 8 second. Good to know if anyone is unsure if the roof is too slow or need to be lubed.
  7. Interesting, I am having the exact same issue at the moment. I have a 2011 SEL, only 27km on the car. The dealer tried to lube the track, but it did not fix the problem. It is still on warranty, so I am bringing it back next tuesday for them to dismantle it and see whats wrong with it. We'll see what they say......
  8. All black, My suggestion, plasti-dip it the color you want to try. If you don't like it, you can peel the plasti-dip off and start over. Many members have plasti-dipped their grill black on this forum (and other colors are available). There is also a how-to video I believe, do a search for it on the forum.
  9. The first oil change (immediately after buying the vehicle) is also one of the most important, since the vehicle is being broken in and there may be more sediments in the oil. Other than on old engines, this is the oil change I would make sure I would not extend past the recommended date/mileage, after that you can adjust based on the type of oil, type of driving and the general state of the oil. Based on the Ford recommendation you quoted, the IOLM does not seem to be much more than an advance timer. It does not take into account the type of oil, and does not analyze its remaining life. The fact that you can reset it through the dashboard is also a confirmation of this. You could reset it at 8000 km without changing the oil and the system would just start over at 100%.
  10. This is actually an issue with different brands as well, my in-laws have a white Honda Pilot, and the bumper and plastic fuel filler door does not match the body paint exactly. They noticed it when they lost ( or was stolen) the fuel filler door and noticed that the replacement was not matching the color of the body. They complained to the dealer and they changed it a few time, but they could never replicate the same glossy white. My wife's white Mazda 3 however does not have that issue, bumper and body matches perfectly. So I guess it is a common issue with white car, but not impossible to do if Mazda can do it.
  11. Jamjordan, same here, the website says I'm up to date with 3.5.2, I guess I will have to give them a call.
  12. Jamjordan, I get the same thing, says my version is up to date with 3.5.2. The website doesn't seem to have changed at all either. I currently have no issue with 3.5.2, hopefully people can comment and let us know if the update is worth it.
  13. If your remote is set to only unlock the driver door on the first press, and all the door on the second press, then the driver door will behave the same way. That is: If you touch the driver door to unlock the door, only the driver door unlock If you touch the passenger door to unlock the door however, then all the door will unlocks. This gives the impression of the car misbehaving ( two different result caused by two very similar actions) The solution is to set the remote to unlock all doors with one click (hold lock and unlock for four seconds until the signal light flashes). In this setting, touching the driver door will unlock all doors.
  14. Mine has a gap as well, altough it is not noticeable unless you stuck your head over the dash. One thing I noticed though is that the carpet material is not rolled over the gap towards the inside, it is cut right at the edge of the trim and is very slightly peeled off in same place. I am not sure if it is just the way it is designed, but it look a little cheap.
