  1. The tradeoff would be longevity. Some tires that are W Rated, as the Paradas are, have a fairly low treadlife partially due to the softer compound for high speed driving.
  2. We drove to Indian Wells, CA recently and rang up around 22 mpg.
  3. No additives Valvoline Semi-Synthetic Oil Everything else: Whatever the dealer puts in
  4. Definitely good to hear. I will have to get mine before the next trip to Chicago.
  5. The 427 would be an LSX 427 crate motor. I wanted to turn up the wick to 1500 hp but I would be content with 800-1000.
  6. My 2011: 101,000 miles as of today. My 2008 had 105,000 before I traded it.
  7. a) Even to this day, I still want one of those with a few "tweaks" including a TT427 backed with a 6L90E. That car was based off the 9C1 Caprice which was the police package. I liked the 9C1s even from a looks standpoint. Cops I knew loved them so much that some municipalities in Chicago actually sent them to a place in Jersey that would refurbish them.
  8. ......or buy a front license plate mount and install fog lights on that.
  9. Right now: Sitting at Discount Tire to fix my left front tire thanks to road debris.
  10. That is exactly what I was thinking. Aftermarket radio with Bluetooth. Not a full blown sound system. Yours would be easier to replace than mine because of how many systems MFT and Sync are linked to. As for where I have been, I have been monitoring the thread and listing what I may need down the road.
  11. My 2002 Maxima SE: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10200702430216244&l=bb0385ccb6 My 1994 Maxima GXE: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10200702433376323&l=560e09d59c
  12. Recently: Mine has had its 95,000 mile service and got the spark plugs replaced. Actualy runs better after that. Took it on a trip to California and she was averaging around 23-24 mpg.
  13. First car: 1977 Cutlass. 260 cid V8. Stolen, crashed into a van, fixed, repainted Dark Cherry Metallic, was planning to put a tan 1/2 top on it and different wheels/tires. After someone tried stealing it again, I sold it. Was not the first car I had that misfortune. I had the same theft issues with a 1988 Caprice. Favorites (Besides my 2008 and 2011 Edges): - 2002 Maxima SE (Second car I ever owned with a sunroof and was PDQ despite a 4 speed auto. Burned brake rotors like nobody's business, though) - 1994 Maxima GXE (First car I ever owned with a sunroof) - 1986 S-10 Blazer 4x4 (Trust me, that 4wd system came in VERY handy during a Chicago Winter Contenders for first car: - 1974 Nova with a 350cid motor - 1971 GTO Convertible - 1970 Chevelle SS 396 - 1976 Caprice Convertible
  14. Fishx: I am curious about the flickering as well. Let me know what they say.
  15. So, what you guys are saying is that the Edge actually has an open differential like a Maxima. In that community, many of them swapped the differentials for Quaife Limited Slip differentials. Maybe that should be another thing to be added to the list. The Focus ST has a helical Quaife Limited Slip Differential. http://www.quaifeamerica.com/qdf41z.html
  16. She's fine now. It was a mixture of a wicked cloud of nitromethane and remnants from pneumonia. I should be getting them in the coming weeks.
  17. Had to put it on hold because wifey had to go to the hospital
  18. My Galaxy S5 has a feature called Mirror Link which, if my phone is connected via USB, will allow my apps to be controlled via the touch screen. I wonder if the next Sync will implement it? Will we who own older Edges get it?
