  1. akirby, I would take the EB 3.5L V6 versus an EB 4 cylinder that makes that much power. Part of the issue is that of refinement. I like the smoother power delivery of the V6 versus the 4 cylinder. No matter what, a 4 cylinder is going to be more coarse/raspy/harsh and will not have the smoothness and refinement of the V6.
  2. My previous Edge: http://www.autofind.com/dealer/details/160430.passenger/2FMDK36C88BA38242/ carbonedge: I changed my stock Hankooks for H rated Goodyear Assurance FuelMax tires at 45K. Also changed brake pads twice (Had to get rid of the EBC pads I had), flushed Trans fluid at 80k and coolant at 90k. Bear in mind, I do live in PHX where it does get hotter than hell itself.
  3. When was the last time you had the transmission flashed?
  4. Correct. The ballast is a smallish box that sits on the outside of the headlight capsule. The ballast's function is critical because it ramps up the power to excite the xenon gas in the bulbs.
  5. I had an easy time after getting the DRL module and warning canceller.
  6. Before I traded it, my 2008 SE had 105,000 on the clock. Transmission flashes and one cooling fan were the issues I had to contend with.
  7. Thanks. Exploring these for my vanity mirrors. Gotta keep the wife happy. http://www.v-leds.com/5K-WHITE-3-LED-WEDGE-p9764125.html

  9. They have a 2012 Limited in the dealer showroom with those wheels. Very classy look.
  10. Just checked on Sylvania's site and the factory HIDs are D3S bulbs.
  11. Correct. More than likely, your bulb is a D2 variant (e.g. D2S) which is what comes with factory HIDs. You can buy aftermarket versions of those bulbs to work with the factory HIDs. In KC's case, he also has a 55w ballast and a relay harness.
  12. Tacyon: There's really more to it than the wattage. Wattage makes the light more intense but it's the amount of lumens that actually determines how bright your lights will be. Stock HIDs are generally 4000-4150K in color which is usually somewhere around 2500-2800 lumens. My 5000K kit is 3200 lumens. My previous 6000K kit was 2800. Bear in mind, my kit is 35w. Here's a color chart to better clarify things courtesy of the vendor I bought my kit from. http://shop.3bspecia...B4-Kits_c34.htm As for the audio system, I do agree it does need more wattage in the cottage. However, I would like to change the amplification and the speakers.
  13. This is my 5K 35w HID kit (Low Beam) Note: Pic was taken with a cell phone which gives a different appearance than real life.
  14. Actually, I got my kit from http://www.3bspec.com and moved it from my 2008 Edge to this one DDM and Restosolutions have similar setups.

    Question

How many of us on this site are 2x Edge owners? I can actually count myself among that category. Previous Edge: http://www.autofind.com/dealer/details/160430.passenger/2FMDK36C88BA38242/ Current Edge: 2011 Limited
  16. Cellbine: Thanks for the clarity. I'll try the type twos since it's the same color as my HIDs. When I get them, I will let you all know how they fare.
  17. The kit that I have includes the following: Canbus Ballast Warning Canceller (Capacitor) DRL Module No flickering at all when lit at full power.
  18. I have one of those Edges. Strangely enough, Calfornia (Mine was a rental unit in California) vehicles must have DRLs and it's hard coded into the system (Dealer tried to disable but couldn't). I had to get another piece to work with the DRLs which will power them up for DRL duty.
  19. Cellbine: Thanks for the heads up. I want the ones like you have but 5000K to match my HIDs.
  20. Do they have a 5000K version of those switchbacks? N/M - Found 'em http://www.v-leds.com/5K-TYPE-2-DUAL-COLOR-p7114832-1-2.html
  21. .....or far away from the throngs of people and shopping carts. Gotta protect my White Platinum.
