Honestly, I am content with the 18" wheels and the total look of my Limited. However, I also liked our 2008 SE as well. My wife likes the fact both vehicles are quite stylish (even though she is getting a kick out of the ambient lighting).

Now, that I am the proud owner of a 2011 Limited with the Sony Sound System, I do feel it's time to change the speakers and amplification since things aren't as clean as I would like. Given that I am not a person who installs Audio, I will be turning my Edge over to Audio Expression in Mesa, AZ for the install. Components: 3.5" speakers: So far the choices are the following: JL Audio: http://www.jlaudio.com/c2-350x-car-audio-c2-coaxial-systems-99611 Boston Acoustics: http://www.bostonacoustics.com/SE35-P760.aspx Morel Tempo: http://www.morelhifi.com/car-audio/tempo (May involve some modification due to speaker's 4" size) 6.5" Components (Front Door and stock tweeter location): Morel Tempo: http://www.morelhifi.com/car-audio/tempo/tempo-2-way-2 JL Audio: http://www.jlaudio.com/c2-650-car-audio-c2-speaker-systems-99617 Boston Acoustics: http://www.bostonacoustics.com/SR60-P604.aspx 6.5" Coax (Rear Door) Morel Tempo 6: http://www.morelhifi.com/car-audio/tempo/tempo-coax-2 JL Audio: http://www.jlaudio.com/c2-650x-car-audio-c2-coaxial-systems-99618 Boston Acoustics: http://www.bostonacoustics.com/SE65-P756.aspx Subwoofer: Kicker Comp VT: http://www.kicker.com/CompVT Morel Ultimo 802: http://www.morelhifi.com/car-audio/ultimo Boston Acoustics: http://www.bostonacoustics.com/G108-P570.aspx Rockford Fosgate: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.aspx?itemid=129171 Main Amp: Tru Technology: http://www.trutechnology.com/images/products/b4100s_full.jpg Subwoofer Amp: JL Audio or Tru Any thoughts?

Seeking info on Ford Edge reliability
PrinzII replied to mkaresh's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
2008 Ford Edge SE (FWD) Repairs done: Throttle Body Replacement (Under Warranty) and Electric Cooling Fan Replacement ($600) Bought new and kept to 105k More reliable than either of the Nissan Maximas I owned previously. -
My first gen Edge had 105k on the clock. I was very strict when it came to maintenance on it and plan to be the same way on my 2011.

No V6, not interested. The only Ecoboost motor I am interested in is the SHO's 3.5L V6 and Ford hasn't made it known whether or not they are going to do that. If they do, I am all over it.

The more I read from Dingo, kc, and cellbine, the more my project list grows. - 5000K 35w HIDs - Tint windshield and remaining rear windows - Front end protection - LED backup bulbs - LED bulbs for vanity mirrors - LED puddle lamps - LED cargo light - LED dome light - Speaker upgrade (debating between Boston, Morel, Dynaudio, and JL Audio for speakers) - Amp upgrade (Tru Audio)

Added LED reverse bulbs today

Tinted front windows
PrinzII replied to RJF25's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
I just got mine done Friday. Did you guys get a ceramic tint? -
I have used Lexol's leather cleaner and conditioner and find it to be good for leather interiors. In fact, now that I have a leather interior, I need to get some ASAP.

Best Product for Cleaning Light Cloth Seats?
PrinzII replied to DunePearlEdge's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I have used Tuff Stuff to clean the steering wheel, console, and dash. However, I followed that up with a protectant. As for the seat stains, Tuff Stuff can work on those as well. -
I will stick to my 80% ceramic tint for the front windshield. I will also start planning out an audio upgrade.
-
I thought that was illegal. Is that from state to state?
-
For the windshield?
-
Nice job on the repair. How long did it take?
-
Duly noted. I will look at that one. But I also have to get my windshield tinted. Usually 75-80% tint.
-
Dingo: Was it the Pinnacle series you looked at? The one I saw did not look purplish at all. I have had 3M before and that actually didn't do much for heat rejection.
-
High Priority - Get it tinted before the AZ sun fries my wife and me. Looking at doing that in two steps. The first step is to tint the side windows and the windshield with a LLumar ceramic film. Second step is to tint the back doors and rear windows with more Llumar ceramic film. - Install HIDs I transferred from my first gen Edge. Already got the bulbs on order and two Canbus digital ballasts (have been working more reliably than the previous digital ballasts I had). I am also going from 6000K to 5000K (6000K = 2800 Lumens, 5000K = 3200 Lumens). Further down the road - Change interior bulbs to LED (Starting with the wife's lighted mirror (gotta keep her happy)) - Change Stock Michelins to Pirelli Scorpion Verdes - Upgrade speakers and amplification. For speakers, considering Boston Acoustics, JL Audio, Morel, and Dynaudio. Subwoofer will be a JL Audio Unit. Amps will be Tru Audio. - Investigating whether Steeda's rear sway bar will fit and maybe getting one

Ambient Lighting Color Poll
PrinzII replied to Edgieguy's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
2011 Limited Stone Interior Gray/White Ambient Light -
I hope they do it. My wife will thank them immmensely and the number of gray hairs I have will be reduced.
-
What is required to change that?
-
Nice stance!
-
Pretty soon, we will be considering a 2013 SEL (Ginger Ale or Mineral Gray w/ charcoal interior). However, one of the things that kind of ruffles my feathers is that the option that I desire (HIDs) is bundled into a package with an option that I don't want (BAMR) and only sold on the Limited. Please, Ford. Listen to your consumers and unbundle the HIDs unless you want us to go aftermarket.
