  1. Thanks! I had done all those steps before (on 3.6.2) but I must have missed something then, because now I can get messaging txts alerts and have them read to me. This is on an iPhone 5 (CDMA) with iOS 7b6.
  2. Regarding iPhone Text message playback/alerts: First off, I have an iPhone 5 (CMDA) with iOS 7b6 (but the same applied to my iOS 6.1.x) I don't get any indication that there is a new txt message, nor the option to have it played back audibly. What settings need to be enabled? In my phone's BT options under the SYNC setting (the MFT pairing), I have "Show Notifications" turned on. I've tried the various settings under the MFT system, but usually when I get to the area that enables txt messaging, the system responds with something along the lines of "This device doesn't support BT Messaging" or something like that. How are other iPhone users getting it enabled? Thanks!
  3. They look great! Nice job. The wiring goes behind the back-panel of each seat? Or down the post tube out the bottom? And then from the rear seats which side did the wiring travel to the front? I'm asking, I guess, for a little info on the actual install, if you have time...or you can just say "go read the DVD install threads" :-)
  4. Can you take pictures of the installed head-rests?
  5. Also - regarding erratic light behavior, I also was experiencing similar issues with the supplied crimps. I feel they don't make positive contact into the skin of the wires 100% of the time, and depending on how you apply pressure to the crimp plate, you may not bite into the wire enough. When I used the crimps I had onhand (similar concept but beefier) and made sure I applied heavy pressure to the crimp plate with the pliers before securing the cross-over plastic cap, all the erratic behavior went away.
  6. Regarding the u-clips...I used a screwdriver as a lever (I hope what I'm describing makes sense) by placing the (longish) screwdriver behind the u-clip (in front of the light) against the front bumper and placing the long portion of the screwdriver rod inside the u-clip between one edge and the plastic of the light housing and prying the clip off that way. Usually it forced the clip away and up from the housing and then I was able to get under it with my fingers and pry it off.
  7. Here're my install notes, in no particular order: 1. 2012 Limited, wheel-well cover doesn't just "pull aside". There are fasteners on the bottom of the bumper as well, needing one hand to hold the guard away/open while you work inside installing lights, wires, etc. 2. I'm not a good wire-wrapper. I wish the negative terminal wire was longer. I hope those wires can withstand some hot temps, 'cause I'm sure there are some resting against some hoses that get very hot. 3. The wire-crimp/clamps provided are verrrrry cheap and not very effective. I had some others on-hand that I replaced with and this eliminated some weird behavior as well as fixed a turn-signal not working. Do yourself a favor and go get some from home depot or radio shack or wherever. 4. One major issue (that I resolved), the RH light set's power plug didn't seem to fit very well. After all was installed, that side didn't light up. I checked the output from the plug and there was no juice. However, on the back-side, it was getting 10-14V. So I took apart the yellow insert and the connectors had pushed back against the backside of the housing ... this was due to the light's power-prongs not being aligned with the power plug and when I inserted it, it got messed up and kinda came apart. After re-seating the power pins and straightening out the power-prongs, I plugged it in and it worked. 5. You'll probably need more zip-ties than are provided. 6. As far as I can tell, lights are 100% when "off" and "parking", and 70% when lights are "on" or "Auto". 7. I don't have the courtesy light setup mentioned above, just the standard install. Doesn't bother me. BUT - if I can simply switch both black wires to a different set on the parking light cluster, I probably will. 8. Overall it probably took me 2 hours due to install problems and re-doing some crimping and re-seating the power-housing, along with the troubleshooting that goes along with that. Anyone have the color-combo for L and R parking lights that allow courtesy lighting? Overall, I'm pleased with the new lights and I'm happy with the quality of the setup. I think for a first-pass product (or is this 2nd?) it's very nice.
  8. Not having been inside my engine space yet...is the fuse box inside the engine space or inside the cockpit...and do you have to run the wire through the firewall to get to it? Thanks!
  9. Is there usually some kind of email response when an order is placed? I ordered a set yesterday (via Paypal) and haven't seen any response at all. Just wondering if maybe some spam filter might have caught something or what. Thanks!
  10. "(3) I want 302a for collision warning with brake and a few other options. Can someone who has this option please provide some feedback?" I have the 302a package with Collision Warning. It actually contains all these options: • Adaptive cruise control and collision warning with brake support • Vision Package – BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert – LED turn signal mirror indicators – Rain-sensing windshield wipers I love each one of those options (except LED turn signals...I don't care one way or the other on those). What I love most from 302a is the adaptive cruise control. "Fire and forget" :-) Set up the speed at which you want to cruise and the Edge takes care of the spacing if/when vehicles slow down in front of you. It will adjust speed relative to the vehicle, keeping a set (adjustable) distance. It even goes so far as to brake hard if there's a fast slowdown. Collision warning is nice too...it pre-primes the brakes and flashes a bank of Red LEDs along the dashboard in front under the windshield (this HUD) and screams some loud alarm. You have to be approaching another vehicle pretty quickly for it to activate (like for me, trying to get in front of the car on my right in order to turn off the highway and the traffic in front of me is slowing way down and I have a small window to move over...at the last moment the CW will sound off as I veer over to the right lane and exit ramp)
  11. Yep - happened to me. What solved it for me was resetting the MFT (Master Reset). Which is a major PITA, but it worked.
  12. Not directly related to the OP, but there is an option to disable the "play music automatically when vehicle starts and iPod (or iPhone) is plugged in", or something along those lines. At least the same song wont repeatedly play (in my case, it was Styx's AD1958...ohhhhh, how I learned to loath that song) when you start the Edge.
  13. Thanks WWW. AWD, not CPO and AFAIK no warranty at this point. I have checked Carfax - no issues (but lack of dealer-performed service) It's from a local dealer (bought at auction earlier this month), but since it's a 302/A I'm guessing it's not a rental vehicle - the CARFAX indicates it was registered as a personal lease vehicle.
  14. Looking to get a 1-owner used 2011 Edge with 302/A package + towing also and 20" Rims with only 20K miles. Dealer is asking 29,500...pretty firm. What should I look for on the vehicle? Any issues that need resolving, or anything to specifically identify on the vehicle that might be a "red-flag"? TIA!
