  1. I've been wanting to get something better than the "17 factory and since I needed new tires, this was a good time. Since we own several Mustangs I know they would fit so it was a matter of finding them. I found a set of "19 take offs with Zero Neros for $300 on CL. I plan to get some 255/50s to be equal in size to factory as these 245/45s are a tad small.
  2. Hi Dan, I contacted you through email but did not get a response. I bought a kit a while ago fir my 2013 SE and love the function as I travel early in the morning and after dark mainly. A few months back I hit a coyote at 85MPH, while the Edge held up well and we made it home fine, the pass side of the front fascia tore off. The insurance put her back together but would not buy aftermarket parts. As I asked on my email, I need the pass side light and the pig tail going back to the junction. Do you sell parts or do I need to buy a whole new kit? Al Cisne
  3. I hit a coyote at 75mph last night and it tore up the front bumper/facia. Will the Sport fit the SE? Or is it the same with just the bottom part painted body color and not left black? They seem to be the same part number.
  4. Very straight forward install. And KC will hell/call you if you have any problems. My only issue with mine is that they are very "blue" and look very odd with the yellow/white factory headlights. I am not ready to switch to HIDs. I wish there was a simpler way to get them to match color.
  5. Thanks for this write up. I did mine yesterday by myself and it took about an hour. I did not pull down the exhaust. Pulling the bolts through took some time, Now I am ready to haul the bikes anywhere.
  6. My new 3.5 2WD 2013SE with 13K miles. It already had the transmission leak and the PTV (or whatever it's called) was changed. It had a loud "clunk" sound from the pass side and I took it in last week and it was a broken strut. I got it back and two days later the driver side is doing the same sound. I called them on Thursday and they could not seem me until Tuesday. I do 95% highway driving and I am never in a hurry. My driveway is about the only bump that I run in to all week. I am starting to get worried about the build quality of this Edge. I enjoy driving it, but I don't know if it will be a keeper. Also, the problem with only able to put 15 gallons with out clicking the last 3 is a PIA as I need a full tank for my twice weekly commute (the dealer claims that they can't duplicate it even when I showed them the gas receipt and dated pictures showing how many miles I have left on the tank) and the fact that even with my all-highway, flat Texas driving, the best I have gotten is 21.8MPG. I have owned a couple of dozen cars in my life and most of them have been Fords (I currently own 7 Fords as I have a thing about Mustangs) and can count with both hands the times I had them in for warranty work. My 185,000 '92 Sprt Trac was only in the dealer once for work.
  7. I have a 2013 with 14K miles and just got it back after the dealer changed the PTU because of a leak. I noticed an oil residue when I was changing the oil. Also, there had been a loud "clunk" sound coming from the front pass side. A strut had broken and they replaced it. I complained that I can only get 15gal of fuel and have to click 10-15 time to get the other 3 gal, but they could not find it. It is a PIA to fill up like that. No problem with my Sync. The other issue I have is with Sirrius constantly calling to renew. I don't know how else to tell them not to call me again.
  8. I got mine installed yesterday on my SE and love them. My Edge is a work vehicle that will get mileaged out so I did not want to pay too much for it and the SE was equipped just like I wanted it except the omission of the DLR. Now I have it equipped like I wanted it. My instructions got damaged during the install and Dan sent me a PDF of the instructions pretty quickly so I was able to finish. I would ask him to send you the files just incase if you order a set. A couple of things I noticed during the install: -The YouTube video of the install is of V1 and not this version as it is a little different. -The actual lights are labeled LH and RH but they actually go in the opposite side, maybe China sees it different than we do (not that they will install in the wrong side as it is odvious where they go). -The factory does not give you much room to work and the length of factory wiring does not come up much when you disconnect from them light housings. My driver side parking light wire was wrapped around the larger wire loom where it came from. Once I uncoiled it, I had just enough room to work with. -The long yellow wire that goes to the passenger side is about a foot short if you want to hide thing and make the install tidy. -There is no example or suggestion on what to do with the "brain" box. In the video of the V1 version, it shows it to use a firewall screw/clip, but I don't think that is am option with this box. -The connector of the wire that goes into the fuse box is a little tall and it hits the top of the fuse box lid and made it hard to close. Also, be careful how you route that red cable out of the fuse box. All in all, an excellent addition to any Edge, specially an SE.
  9. Have you thought about getting a kit from eBay? http://www.ebay.com/sch/6000/i.html?_nkw=ford+edge+wood+dash&_dmpt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&_rdc=2 The option are almost endless in color, price, quality.
  10. Well, I got home tonight and they were in the mail box. To dark to install them tonight so I will have to go it tomorrow.
