There are peeps on the FEWW group on FB that have a variety of aftermarket head units with full steering wheel controls etc. HTH

Check out this video by MACT. He goes into cleaning and lubing the rails etc. It might or might not shed some light on your issue. My edge shut down during the download. Installing it via USB is relatively painless. Takes all of 10-15 min.

You can run windows on mac using boot camp and or using parallels or Virtualbox

Unfortunately, this did not work for me.

My Pixel 2 Xl works with Android Auto fine with no issues. I forgot to bring my cable when I picked up my car. The cheap no name/ off brand cable from 711 works fine. After downloading android auto for my phone there were some permissions and options that needed to be selected. Once I did that my phone worked flawlessly. As Omar and Quila suggested, I would definitely trying a different cable.

There are some isolated incidents, nothing wide spread like the previous generations. If they're more incidents they are posting on FEWW on FB and not here. Temperature seems to be the enemy. I plan on changing the fluid on my PTU with royal purple since it has a higher flash point than the Motorcraft fluid. Is it pricier? You bet, damn near double the price depending on where you go for your fluids. Is it worth the peace of mind? You got it. MACT did a post comparing different fluids and made some conclusive suggestions based on his findings. While Royal Purple is not amongst those tested he did not suggest using Motorcraft int he PTU either. Take it for what its worth.

Once I connect my phone, it automatically brings up android auto. I have to back out of android auto and go back to sync. Once I am in sync mobile apps is locked out for me. It is only accessible if I disconnect my phone.

Thanks for the info and the suggestion. The diamond white you suggested seems like its the closest color they have. I'll call them tomorrow and tell them what my needs are and see if they can match it or come close. Diamond white might be the way to go after all.
