  1. Sounds like a setting problem to me. I have paired many I Phones and the only problem i have run into is people not shutting the phone down every couple of days. Make sure blue tooth did not get turned off in the car or on the phone. Keep us updated and i will figure it out for you.
  2. As a Sync Specialist i would make sure the button on the steering wheel is actually working. Try pushing the button to see if you get something on the screen like redial. I really dont think its a phone problem unless its a phone that has an operating system like the i phone or droid. In this case just like windows they have to be rebooted just like windows or they start to act up. Also go into your sync account and make sure there are no updates. Let me know if you need more help.
  3. I was not going to look at the window sticker as it does not give you any information on what version of sync is on the car. What i was going to do is go into the sync account for the vehicle as a guest to see what version is installed. I can view this without needing the user name or password. The only thing i can view is sync info and updates available. Just wanted to see if the new version of sync was really on it.

  5. There is no hard drive on the MyFord Touch System so you can stop looking. The only system that has a hard drive is the one thats used in the trucks and expeditions and flex and maybe some other vehicles. The only thing you can load on the system is 32 wallpaper photos.
  6. It's only good if you only have the basic 3 year 36,000 warrenty. The ones who bought an extended warrenty are up a creek without a paddle at this point.
  7. Everyone will get a year warrenty extension on the Myford Touch System. As i already have the navigation and a extended & year 100,000 warrenty what should i get? At this point in time nothing!
  8. I very much agree with you. I have owned mine now for 11 months and would buy it all over again. Yes i have had some problems but not enough to make me not buy the car or the MyFord touch System again. I still believe that many of the problems are Human Error. I know that last statement wont make me any friends. As a Certefied Sync Specialist With a Ford Dealer i have the oppertunity to work with customers on the system and do not see half the problems that are mentioned. Enjoy the ride.
  9. I had an oppertunity to see the new system on a ford reps 2013 taurus sho today. The system was very snappy and the screens were clean looking. In talking to him he has been using it for 2 monthsand has not had any sytem freezes , hangs or any reboots. according to him the system is very stable. From what i saw and what he said all looks very promosing. He did not have the new navigation card and this was on the car when he picked it up so he does not know how long it will take to do the self install. He also did not have a firm date as to when it would be available to us.
  10. What they told you was correct. Because ford makes you jump through hoops to get things done you have to be experiencing a problem. Give it a day and you shoud experience one glitch and they will then do it for free. It's a Ford thing not a dealer thing. You always have the option of downloading the update and doing it yourself. Remember if you ask it to place a call and it does not understand you that is a problem. It's a shame you have to stretch the truth to get Ford to pay the dealer so they will do it for you. My 2011 was shipped with 2.7 dealer has upgraded it to 2.8 and then to 2.11 i have very few problems with my system. Enjoy your system.
  11. Check to see if an update available. As a Sync Specialist for a dealer every time i have experienced this there was an upgrade the fixed it. Also make sure it's happening all the time. I have seen this happen when there was a problem with communication with the satalite.
  12. All dealers will do the upgrde for free and will be paid by Ford to do it. The letter you recieve will tellyou how to do it yourself or to take it to the dealer. Ford does not want any bad press due to the upgrade.
  13. I'm not quite sure what your question is. If you are looking for information on map version you are not going to find anything other than the info that is on the S.D. card. If your looking to set up navigation preferences you need to go to setting and then click on navigation and there are all kinds of settings there.Pleas gheck the following two web sights.   14. That is only partly true. You can use voice contrl while driving for either sync or the Navigation System. Also if you look at the Nav screen for entering information you will see a button in the right hand corner that lets you switch to to complete something if you are stopped and then have to start driving.
  15. I'm a Sync Specialist with a ford dealer and teach customers about all the systems. The screens you are looking at are for the Navigation System that is on some ford vehicles such as F-150 trucks and Expedition. These systems are similer to my ford touch but not the same.   16. I have the 7 year 100,000 warrenty. Also its the Premium plan.
  17. The Warrenty starts immediatly. It does not cover anything more than the orginal warrenty other than you do get a free rental car any time you drop off your car. I have had 2 Sync updates done and both times i was given a rental from enterprise.

  19. I would definitely install the update. Most of the updates i have done for customers has helped with phone compatibility. Sync is pretty stable and does not have the problem that MFT has. I have never seen it create new problems.
  20. I had my upgraded from version 2.8 to version 2.11 on tuesday. I went into syncmyride before i went to the dealer and it said 2.11 it had previously said 2.8. If the tech does it properly yours should show the same.
  21. Stop worring about it and enjoy your new car. Most people are not seeing most of these problems. I picked my car up on 3/25/2011 and have version 2.8 on it now. I enjoy using it every day and have very few problems.I would say that everything works 95% of the time. No different than my destop or laptop. I am getting them to put version 2.11 in a week from tuesday. I do not work for Ford but i am teaching Sync/Myford touch classes at the dealer. Most customers problems are due to a lack of knowing how to fully use the system. Enjoy your new ride and dont let the forum take away your enjoyment.
  22. Don't know why they are saying it will take so long unless they are worried about it not installing right the first time. When i had 2.8 installed it took almost 2 hours. Get a loaner and let them have it all day. Just make sure everything is working when you get it back before you leave. My nav was not working when i picked it up and they had to redo it while i waited. Make sure they know you are wanting it done because you are having problems. If you don't they may try to charge you. Let us know what happens.
  23. This is a known problem with the 6 cd changers. I had a 08 limited for 3 years before i traded it for an 2011 and Ford was working on my third radio. Try to get them to replace it under warrenty. Good Luck.
  24. Take it to the dealer and let them know you are having a problem and ask them to recalibrate the screen. This may help.
  25. Yes its a sirius patch and it is a sync update with sync update numbers
