  1. Sorry to hear! This is definitely a safety issue and should be treated as such by Ford. So crazy that a safety recall hasn't happened. Scary.
  2. Yes the detour is exactly the option, but again there is very little variation from the original route.
  3. If I know the roads slightly I do exactly that and turn on the navigation once I'm on my way. But sometimes I just want to see some alternatives even if I know the way (I think) I want to go. I get this is obviously a shortcoming of the system that won't change. I'm just surprised to see it as I've had navigation on every vehicle I've owned since buying a new 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe back in 2003, and even that nav had multiple route options. Oh well :/
  4. Also if I'm not familiar with the area I'm in or location I want to go, setting waypoints is impossible. Having only the 3 options that are given is not helpful since they all take the same basic route, save except for some side streets that may make it the "shortest route".
  5. Using waypoints to select a different highway is annoying because it keeps trying to get you off that highway and back on the original route. The only way to fix it is to set multiple waypoints along the highway you want to take, which is totally annoying and time consuming especially if your route is fairly long. It shouldn't be like this.
  6. They don't all have adaptive steering. My Sport doesn't, thankfully.
  7. I tried it but unfortunately the three options it gives are the same shortest, fastest, or eco settings (which barely vary in directions). I was hoping for a few more options, that took me on a different path (say I know that a certain highway is busy at a particular time of day so I would rather take another highway (that would normally take longer) or a toll highway. There is no option to see these routes even if I select or deselect the various options...toll roads, highways, etc.). Very frustrating.
  8. It may seem safe for most of us, but I would definitely not want to drive a mile with my wife behind the wheel if it was that off center. It would freak her out to the point she would be concentrating more on that than the road (and I would suspect many would be similar in their reaction).
  9. Unbalanced tires can definitely cause a humming noise at higher speed, I've experienced it myself. The OP also said there was slight shaking in the steering wheel which is definitely a sign of unbalanced tires. Even if they were bad tires, it's a cheap check before going out and buying a whole new set. But hey, to each their own.
  10. You should have at least brought them to a tire shop and had them balanced. Cheap fix if that's all it was compared to buying all new tires! What kind did you end up getting?
  11. That is ridiculous! For anyone saying this shouldn't be a safety recall, is out to lunch! I would not even have attempted to drive the car with the wheel that off center. Brutal, absolutely brutal.
  12. The paddle shifters are just a novelty, unless used for down shifting on a hill like akirby said. If they aren't rev matching, there is so little advantage of having them.
  13. It won't be. I think they are just saying that the likelihood of having to replace a lower profile tire after nail damage increases.
  14. I think it's just a numbers game. I barely see any Edge Sports during my commute, but I see a ton of regular Edges (and I would say more than half of those are Titanium models).
  15. While on the topic of navigation, I agree with the about it's very annoying. Another question though, is there a way to choose from multiple routes when a destination is selected? The only option I see is detour. All of my old navigation systems gave me a list of like 7 or 8 different routes for me to choose from. It would be nice to have this here.
  16. I wouldn't really call the seats in the Edge "sport buckets". There is really nothing sporty about them at all. However, I agree with you that they do get more comfortable as they work in (I'm sure your body gets used to them as well).
  17. Same here. I told them my steering wheel wasn't straight so it forced them to do an alignment. Low and behold there were all sorts of issues they had to correct (mainly the toe setting).
