  1. I must get smoking deals from the guy that does powdercoat. They are a fencing company so they have their powdercoat running nearly every day. he did my motorcycle wheels and 14 other miscellaneous parts for $184 bucks. Gave him $200 because i thought he was crazy. What I'm saying is, if you decide to coat your stock wheels, check with a company that isn't a powder coat "shop", a lot of times they do so much quantity, that the extra cash in their pocket is just gravy.
  2. You're not kidding about the flow. I had the same issue with my oil catch nearly not keeping up! I bought a 5 gallon jug of Royal Purple synthetic so i'm in the same boat as you, finding old laundry detergent bottles and a few random 1qt empty bottles

    The Kill Zone

Figured I'd start a thread, mostly for the 2.7L Sport guys, where we can list what other vehicles you guys have raced and beaten (either tuned or not) while driving your sport! So far my list includes: Subaru STi Honda Civic Si Nissan Juke RS Dodge Charger (it had the 392 hemi badge on the fender) To his defense, his launch was terrible. i mean freakin terrible. Sanctioned races of course.. Definitely not talking about a 40 roll on the highway.. against a mercedes cla45.. where the mercedes was eating dust the entire pull. definitely not that kind of stuff... what do you have on your kill list?
  4. yes, i should have mentioned i'm a prime member so you do need to order 5, however i bought a few microfiber towels from chemical guys to replenish my stash for cleaning the interior, which would have put me over the minimum anyways!
  5. I usually pay between $8-$13 depending on where and when i buy. great deal on amazon right now, Motorcraft FL2062 for $5.33 I bought 3 of them last time, and they were $8.50 each This time I picked up 5 of them for myself!

  7. chris (gt500) on here has a guy that already programmed a CNC to cut out the honeycomb completely. i know he posted the link on the forum somewhere, just gotta find it. You'd have to remove yours, send it to them, and i'm sure they'd do it since it was already programmed. i'll post the link if i find it.
  8. well, you could look at it as the 2015 model year is the fastest model of them all so far. as tested by motortrend (and me at the dragstrip)
  9. As long as I do it once a week I rarely get out the wash mitt. my pressure washer does a good job of getting rid of all the junk on it, especially after i let that foam sit on there. I had a black bmw about 6 years ago, and that was the first time i experimented with just the foam and no touching. washed front door with foam and pressure washer, rear door with wash mitt. no difference between the two, so i decided there was no need to touch the paint. bugs on the grill is a different story, and i use a meguiars quik detailer for that stuff.
  10. that is awful. i'd never heard of that. my lease had an allowance for dings/dents/scratches. it had been in a hailstorm and i thought i was screwed. before i turned it in, they sent out an appraiser to value any damages before turn in. i didn't get charged a penny.
  11. I beat the hell out of the last lease i had. but i had no intentions on buying out a base model honda civic since you know exactly how well you've taken care of it, it may be worth the extra cost to buyout rather than pick up a used one/same miles/less money situation.

    #6 Misfire

Since you are not a mechanic yourself it is tough to give you advice on how to troubleshoot. I always give the same advice to everyone encountering misfires. check plugs first. pull plug #6 and see how it looks. plugs are generally so cheap/easy to replace, if you are not familiar with what a plug should look like you can just pop a new one in there and see if the problem is solved. a misfire can generally feel like what seems to be a transmission problem. jerking, surging, hesitation. i had a bad ring seat on a freshly rebuilt toyota motor and thought it was a transmission problem. turns out cyl #5 plug was trashed with oil causing a misfire. as stated here, this is the best way to check, but if you're not a mechanic that was probably all in a different language! if you are over 100k and never changed plugs it is time to do so with all of them anyway
  13. I'm even more careful than that guy if you could believe that! I usually soak the car in the foaming wash each weekend and only have to powerwash it clean because i do it so often. then maybe once every 6-8 weeks or so i have to wash it with a mitt. a good ph-balanced foaming cleaner and powerwasher and leaf blower dry makes it look just as good as when i use a mitt, as long as i do it often enough.
  14. The last issue i saw related to that was as simple as a bad wire leading to the sensor (in my case it was the crank sensor) i replaced both sensors first, and it didn't fix the issue. after running around trying to find what else it could be, i traced the wires and found one that was damaged. replaced it and no problems after that.
  15. Might as well put a spotlight on it while you're at it!! actually i think he's driving a '13
  16. absolutely no reason to buy a mycal tuner from lms brand new. I wish i would have known that before i bought mine. this is a good score for someone out there!
  17. i really need to wax mine, but i just don't trust anything to wax a black vehicle and not get swirls. i'm meticulous about not touching the paint when i wash it unless absolutely necessary. when i do, i use the 2 bucket method and the leaf blower to dry it off.
  18. i'm an idiot. thanks guys i did, on the clock. got paid for it, and answered a call while in there.
  19. when I post, i have like 30 things listed under my avatar. has like gender, age, if i pooped today... how do i get rid of all that stuff like everyone else?
  20. my plan exactly. they are going to be slant cut and staggered with the burnt tips. should follow the body contour nicely. found a pair on ebay for less than $100. planning on having them sit about 3/4"-1" out from the bumper
  21. looks awesome. I pulled mine off to test the theory and decided that's what i was going to do. your picture finalized it for me! what size are the outlets on that? are they 3"? i can get the quad tips with 2.5", 3", or 3.5" outlets and i'm trying to decide which will look best.
  22. Did either of you guys remove the exhaust bezels? i know someone here did so they could be wrapped or something, and i think it was one of you two. I'm fabricating a 2.5" exhaust for it and as it turns out, those bezels aren't large enough to get a 2.5" tailpipe through. my original plan was to put staggered quad tips on it, hanging out of the bezels slightly. after buying all the parts before measuring (because after all, I was more excited about the project than actually planning it out) the bezels won't allow for a 2.5" pipe to hang out of the back. so I have a 2 options... I'm either going to cut off the bottom of the bezels, and wrap them/paint them black, and then put the quad tips on OR I'm going to go extreme. I think I can weld a plate to the thin metal piece inside the bezel, and paint the whole area, to eliminate the exhaust cutout entirely. Then I'm thinking of making it a center exit, like the corvette or i can put some space between them, like the bmw m3 . either way, I can make the cutout, and put a nice bezel or trim piece in there and make it look like it belongs. obviously more labor intensive, but way more unique. Nick, i know you wanted to go 3" exhaust at some point. As long as you're not planning to have the exhaust show out of the back, you'll be fine, because the current tailpipe out of the muffler is 2.5", it just hangs inside a bit for clearance. but if i'm going to put the effort in to make a custom exhaust, i want people to see it!
