  1. I've had an inquiry with livernois about tuning the active grill and intercooler shutters to stay open all the time, to hopefully help some with their nasty intake temps. well they finally got around to implementing it on my tunes. call or email them to get your updated tune with this little addition! may not help much, but every little bit is good enough for me!
  2. I think they did, or at least thats what it sounds like in this post:
  3. forget e30, he needs a liquid nitrogen tune to keep that thing cool.
  4. I actually prefer the softer shift 93 tune they sent me. with the regular performance tune, i was getting the 2nd to 3rd "holy hell i just ran over a horse" slam into 3rd gear for the first few miles, then it leveled out the rest of the trip. but it would do it EVERY time when the trans wasn't warmed up. if you have anything to monitor temps on your run with the v3 please do so. My 1/4 mile times got .5 second slower with the v3 tune, and i attribute it to the atrocious temp jumps after the 330 ft mark or so. LMS says it pulls harder at the end of the 1/4 mile run, but the only thing that tune pulls at the end of the run is timing. BOOOOOO!
  5. what did you notice first when the shock started giving out? a noise? a bounce? or the leak?
  6. I just threw up. I was expecting a price like the one I paid for my wilwood disc set-up on my mustang. YOW! I'm sure they are freakin AMAZING though.
  7. Yes of course I did. Called them to ask if they sent me the wrong tunes. The response was as expected. he said different days at the track produce different results. On a vehicle such as this (meaning a 13 second awd vehicle) I only take into account 2 things. DA, and intake temps. traction is not an issue I had nearly identical intake temps when I staged. by the end of the run, the temps were so hot on the v3 tune that i might as well have been running a hair dryer for a turbo. The DA was actually better for my first two v3 runs. here are my 4 runs for the day (right after they released the v3 tunes), with the tune listed after 13.56 v3 13.82 v3 13.41 v2* 13.92 v3 These weren't hot laps, I had well over an hour between each run. the tunes just didn't perform, and i believe it is because they have to pull so much timing to keep from knocking. that's where 100 octane may help the v3 tune a bit. but we shall see.
  8. I heard the same thing from LMS and I'm still waiting for a time slip. my 2 best slips on 93 are 13.39 @ 101 and last weekend managed a 13.28 @ 102 Both were while running the 93 octane V2 tune. My runs with the V3 tune were much worse so i don't know how LMS can make those claims. I also haven't been able to make a 100 octane run yet. fuel shack was closed, maybe too early in the season for them to have fuel at a test n tune? I would assume I can get into 13.1X territory with the 100 tune and the right DA
  9. alright, I can see where that seems factual. however, can someone explain how there are exhaust gases without fuel combustion? asking for a friend
  10. My understanding was that the 1st Edge into the 12's was on a 100 octane tune from unleashed with lowering springs. The IC, aftermarket wheels, and motor mount were added later and he got deeper into the 12's. I could be wrong here. can't seem to find the damn thread for the proof. But no, it wasn't just a flashed tune alone.
  11. I think you guys are mis-interpreting "fuel shut-off". it does not mean "zero fuel" I'm pretty sure we can all agree on how an internal combustion engine works.
  12. I could definitely believe that. I would actually prefer to have the "fog" lights more of a yellow tint than what they are. I know they aren't really for light output, which is why i wonder why they chose the light color that they did.
  13. Yes. Several. There are members here part of a Ford Edge facebook group of some kind that post videos and slips. I'd give you a link, but I don't have a facebook.
  14. I'm with you on this. I hate that they don't match the lights on the bumper. i'm assuming they'd need to be closer to a 6k color and not whatever they are now. drives me NUTS.
  15. I'm pretty sure you need to drop the tank to get access. there used to be access from inside the vehicle under the seat but i think they did away with that panel for the 2010 model.
  16. I enjoy the karma, but I hate left lane hogs! I guess that means I hate you, enigma! seriously though, thankfully here in texas they actually enforce the "left lane for passing only" law on the toll road. even if someone is doing the speed limit and has someone up their ass, they'll pull over the first guy for not moving over, instead of the 2nd guy for tailgating. let those speeders take their chances on a ticket.
  17. I find surround mode terrible.. but as a musician, sound engineer, and recording engineer (self-titled) I really don't find a whole lot of issues with the sound system on my sport. I have a pretty good knowledge of EQ's and frequencies and my only gripe would be the low end below 80hz or so, causing a bit of "mud" on the low end. I always pull the mids down a few notches, the bass down some, and bump the treble some. I wish they had a graphic EQ on there so I could tweak the mid-highs a bit but overall I was actually impressed. Lows (-3) Mids (-2 to -4 depending on how guitar heavy the music is) Highs (+2) I listen to mostly new rock/hard rock or "metal" through the USB and can't really complain about it. if it is bass heavy music, something like jazz or funk, i usually boost the mids to a +2 and keep the highs at 0
  18. are you using it correctly? hit lock button once, and the other button twice. are you hitting both buttons twice?
  19. Without fuel the engine would stall. higher RPM uses more fuel than lower RPM, even if you are not on throttle. will you notice fuel savings by dropping to neutral? I would say absolutely not, but it doesn't cut fuel to "zero"
  20. If both are brand new with no miles i always go with the previous model year. My logic is always in the resale. some people only do simple math. for instance, oh its a 2016 with 20k or a 2017 with 20k. one might consider it high mileage for the year, while the other is low mileage for the year. (even though the length of ownership may be the same) If there isn't any updates to a model that are a "must have" then that is the logic I used. I bought my 2016 brand new at the end of June 2017. So on paper, a 2016 edge with 8500 miles seems like i don't drive it much!
  21. There are tuned edges into the 12's, so that is not entirely true, however one would guess that the new ST edge will be immediately brought to a tuner to see what they could do. i would imagine a 12.7-12.5 out of a tuned ST would be possible in the right tuners hands.
  22. I've heard some videos and wasn't impressed. I've got the materials to build my own, just need to get under there and do it already.
