  1. here's one for you.. how long do you footbrake? maybe i'm not building boost long enough at launch? or maybe too much boost and blowing the tires off without realizing it. I usually hold from the time we both finish staging.
  2. Mobil 1 or Royal Purple for me. anything i beat on or race i've always run RP full synthetic. motorcycle included. wifes cars have always gotten mobil 1. no issues with either. got a decent deal on 5 gallons of royal purple from amazon a few months ago so i scooped it up for the edge
  3. all edge owners must be the same. i have shirts over my seats, and a towel over the console, and a giant blanket in the back for the doggo.
  4. correction.. a chain, attached to the same place you'd install a hitch. or i suppose i could weld them to the hatch instead of having a license plate
  5. The guy i spoke with said they adjust the tip in with the tune, then suggested the throttle enhancer. also, asked him about the AGS and intercooler grill to see if they could tune that out. i was told they have done it for the 2.3 mustang tune, but not the edge, and that they would talk to the tuner and get back to me (yea right)
  6. where did you pick those up? i want to grab those and some new black center caps
  7. pics would help. I've only seen 4 and 7 wire. the edge would most definitely not be a 7 wire, as our towing capacity isn't all that high. does it look like one of the connectors in this video?
  8. i said i was a welder.. not an idiot. better chance of a wheel falling off after you let an 18 year old kid rotate your tires at the dealer
  9. I can't be sure. but the seat bottom is so easily removed you can pop it off in under a minute, check it out, and stick it back together and let the rest of us know for sure!
  10. actually.. just took a look at the seat and manually folded it down. though it is out of the vehicle, it does appear that yes, they will lay flat without the bottom seat there. not "flat" to the spare tire area, but "flat" as in, parallel to the ground. or so it appears.
  11. funny thing, I have two 4" nuts.. i mean like, nut and bolt nuts that i plan to weld together and hang from a chain from underneath mine once i get under there and take the suitcase muffler out of the way. they are freakin huge. like 8lbs each huge!
  12. its very empty with only the few patches of rubberized caulking in a few spots to dampen some of the drum noise. i did attach some left over audio foam from my recording studio underneath the dog platform. helped some with the hissing, not so much help with the humming. plus i'll be fabricating a 2.5" exhaust under there in the next week or two, so i'm sure that'll liven up the sound in the cab
  13. ben is mostly correct. push the lever, lift the front of the seat a little bit, then push the seat toward the rear, and lift up. like he said they are hooked in place. I hated that the seats didn't fold flat, so here is what i did for my dog. i made a platform and posted about it on this site. it was a nice weight reduction as well. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/22816-2016-sport-rear-seat-delete/
  14. Let me clarify... I have the rear seats removed, and I made a flat platform so my doggo is comfortable standing with her big dopey head out the window. i posted pictures in the weight reduction thread i made on here somewhere. anyway, without the seats to eat up that extra road noise, i'm going to try and silence it some now, so when i switch back and forth it goes from quiet to extra quiet!
  15. I've got the 20's so that's a damn good price. I'm so desperate to get into the 12's on this LMS tune that i'd consider a M/T if they made them in roughly the same size as the stock tires. can't find a drag tire in 245/50r20 that's worth a damn!
  16. Track doesn't allow a deep stage at their events. no freakin clue why. however, i probably could get into the beams a bit more before the light goes out. called LMS, they already tune for the throttle response, but would have to get their throttle enhancer to fine tune where i like it. not worth that kinda money to me though.
  17. AWD on the stock 20's, 7800 miles Hey, someone once said it, and i repeat it often. Start counting the Smiles per gallon instead.
  18. ah ha! still expensive.. but that makes WAY more sense
  19. everything looks better with 4 exhaust tips. time to mod the edge! strange front end though. its all grill and no body
  20. easy killer.. no one was judging you. if you read it says "dick move" preceded by the part where i asked if you talked to the business first.. followed by "different story". read the whole thing, then pull the panties out your bum. you got ripped off in all aspects thus far. i feel for you. and i'm glad you got your money back. if someone told me $1350 to spray paint my calipers i'd tell em to suck eggs. People paint entire cars for that price. I had an entire quarter panel replaced on a focus for half that. $18 for hi temp paint and $5 for painters tape. where the hell did they come up with the additional $1327? they charge $500 an hour labor? that's the kind of place that can only thrive in cali. these tall boot wearin sum beeches in texas wouldn't have wiped the cow sh!t off their boots in a place like that. jesse james himself would hand engrave a shaft and balls on each caliper for less than that.
  21. off subject a bit but did you at least try to get the guys to fix it or offer you a refund of some sort? kind of a dick move to stop a payment on something without contacting a business first. they have families to feed just like the rest of us. if they mess up and don't stand behind it... different story.
  22. Anyone try to do any additional sound dampening in the interior of the G2 edge? Mainly I'm hearing a lot of road noise from the rear seats/cargo area. I've looked into SDS (sound deadener showdown) and i know it is a good product, but i was also thinking of maybe trying something lighter, like spray on boom mat. maybe spray the wheel wells, spare tire area, and trans/exhaust tunnel area. any experience with this stuff? or some other product you like?
  23. on our wonderful 85mph texas highway i have a 30 mile commute to work everyday. it'll hold around 23mpg depending on wind conditions. when we do our road trips i average 27mpg at 65mph. when i'm stomping around town and not letting people pass i'm about 18mpg. (still better than their 17-24mpg rating) all of this is on the 93 performance tune. pretty happy with that, but i'm not like roots, i keep it in "D" and just paddle down 2 gears if i feel a need for speed.
  24. got the springs. still stock wheels/tires. launching at 2000-2500 hasn't produced much for different results. all between 2.04-2.07 60ft. i don't have a FB. i hate that nonsense. have you gotten the v3 tune yet for yours? i found my times/mph to be worse on the new tune.
