  1. Thank you for the post Ryan I am going to call them tomorrow and ask about it. I will post up my findings.
  2. I thought of something else it could be as well. On one of my cars I did a flash and remember it running ruff and bad idle. It was something in my tune that was effecting my Throttle Body Sensor. The tune had it either open to much or not enough can't remember at start up so the idle was jacked up and it threw a wrench on the vehicle because it was out of spec of what it should be. When I rev it a little it would smooth out but the wrench (check engine) was on and stayed on. I gave that info to the tuner and his comment was I know what's wrong... 10 minutes later got a new tune and no more check engine and no more bad idle. Ran that tune till I sold it years later no issues.
  3. I can tell you the first time I uploaded a tune to the Shelby and it did the download it took like 10 minutes, on my SCT programmer at the time all I had on a screen was a spinning star and was thinking something is wrong but left it like that and finally it finished. Than the 93 octane tune started to flash and it took like 2 minutes and then told me to turn off key and disconnect. This past spring I got a nGauge from my tuner and had to put back the OEM flash to the ECU than plug in the nGauge to download the stock map to the nGauge before I could put the safe tune on so I could drive the car to the dyno to get it dialed in since we changed injectors, fuel system mods, and smaller pulley on the TVS. And it did the same thing... took for ever to upload the factory tune (meaning about 5-10 minutes) but once on the dyno and making pulls the tuner would give me the new flash to upload and that took like 60 seconds. I have no idea while the factory download and upload takes so long compared to the after market flashes that I have used. My best guess (but a tuner could tell us) is the factory download is everything and the performance tunes don't need all those files since they are working on just certain aspects of the tune but that is just my guess. Now for the check engine light: Bad gas or lower octane would be an issue at boost and with timing but just starting the car and immediately getting check engine light that doesn't sound like gas. I guess anything is possible but like Nick said you should be able to scan and see what the code is. I am guessing LMS would want to know that as well. But since this is a brand new car I could see why you don't want to chance it so in that case call them in the morning and explain what is going on and ask for them to send you a new file. I have had a few emailed files that seemed okay, uploaded okay to the tuner but when flashing something went wrong. The fix was getting a new file from the tuner. Also disable any virus software on the laptop or desktop that is uploading the file to the tuner you don't want virus software to be scanning the file and trying to decide if it is a virus or not. Next up would be a data log. You can load software on your laptop (LMS will tell you which software) than plug your tuner into the laptop (USB) and than into your OBD port. Start the recording on the software and than start the car....after start up you get the same thing as before turn off the car and stop the recording. Than save the file and email it to them. Once they open it their tuner will see everything and should zero in on it immediately. Than they will adjust the file for whatever is wrong and email it back to you to upload. Before all this takes place I would just ask for a new file (disable virus software first) and try the process again. After that go to plan B with reading codes or data logging. Sorry for the long post and all this info you may already know since you have other cars you have modded. Not knowing anyone on here in person I never want to assume anything and owning two hayabusa's and 8 Mustangs in my life and have screwed with all of them so have encounter all these type issues and many more... ( I should learn to not fix it if it isn't broke but I just can't help myself ) Good luck and let us know how it is going.
  4. I will be hitting refresh all weekend can't wait to hear about it...
  5. I called Gibson exhaust today just to check in to see if they have plans for an exhaust..He said am the 10 person that has called about it. His answer is they don't know yet they are waiting to see how many people would be interested. I am a big fan of Borla as well so I called them and got the same response which is the more people ask about something the more they would consider building a Cat back. His logic and really all of the companies are this: They don't want to spend allot of time and effort to R&D on a product and than sell 4 systems. So if your not happy with the sound of the ST exhaust start to knock on the doors of the companies above.
  6. WOW you do have some nice toys..... I love performance Hypersonic007 as well... Big Hayabusa Fan, and have a GT500 putting down 683 rwhp... plans over winter to get that in the 700's For the Edge it will be my daily car so don't need to spend allot on it because it will take away from my budget for the other toys.. .BUTTTTTT.....with that said I would love a CAI, and CAT back exhaust to start than move into a tune to pull it all together... For speed I have other things in the garage to scare me but I wouldn't be mad if the ST would have had 365hp and 400 Tq Toys here: http://www.flairphoto2.com
  7. Wow HYPERsonic007 your not messing around LOL your on it... I have beat down the internet looking for a CAI for it but nothing I currently use JLT on my Shelby so called them but they are not planning anything unless they get a 1000 request than they might... Also have contacted every exhaust place for a true cat back and nothing just axle back which I guess is better than nothing. I understand why companies don't have anything because there thinking the time in R&D won't pay off but I am thinking if someone spent the money for a edge sport / ST than spending 700-800 on nice stainless CAT-Back would not be out of the question for me I am going to be spending mid 40's on my daily driver so what is another $ 800.00 in the big scheme of things.
  8. Great Review answers allot of questions.
  9. Hey Guys, I know some have talked about getting a tune for the ST and if anyone on here is a Mustang owner than you know all the companies that do the tuning including Livernois. I just got off the phone with a really nice guy name Scott who knows all about the edge st. What this means for those of us that want to get a tune we know this company has experience with the ST and we won't be getting a tune that is untested or will screw up our vehicle. While talking to him he say they have already been tuning ST's for people and he sent me a video of one they just did. So the process if you want this done: You contact them and purchase a tuner. Once you have the tuner you plug it into your car and get a set of codes that they will need. From there you go to there website fill out the tunes you want ( 89,91,93 octane) and they send them down to you. You upload the tune to your tuner from your computer (usb cable) and than take the tuner out to your car plug it in and go through the prompts. Withing a few minutes you will magically have just picked up =+59 WHP and =+59 WTQ Contact them for more questions and or to start the process I am just relaying what Scott and I talked about. 10. I hope Ford sees this and can fix the performance issue. They could do a new flash and get a safe 30 more Crank HP and torque over 400.00 and not put that much more strain on the drive train. I know it isn't a Mustang, and it is a Heavy BUT if there going to put the ST badge on they could have made it a little hotter. We could have that done from our favorite tuner and I am sure some will but that has the risk of warranty issues which is another cluster to deal with. I wonder if the 2020 will be any better I guess I can always wait another year
  11. Thank you Xtra, I just added that info to my post. So you happy with the sound? Do you happen to have a youtube video of it?
  12. So I have contacted Borla, Gibson, Magna Flow, and Flow Master and Ford Racing, about a cat back system for the edge sports and specificity the Edge ST. After all this vehicle is a " Ford Performance Vehicle" however the exhaust note sounds the same as a Focus SE exhaust outside of the car. (Then there is that awful pumped in sound in the cabin...that is another story) They are know about the Ford Edge and the ST but what they all said was they need to see an interest in aftermarket exhaust before they put in the time and research to make something and than have only a few people buy it. Unlike the Mustang, ST Focus, RS, Trucks, they know there is allot of sales for those vehicles and most like a different sound than stock. What the guy told me at Borla (who also makes ford racing exhaust I have been told) is when people call in to ask about a specific application that make a note of it and it they get allot of requests than that is when they decide if it makes sense to do the work to design one. That all makes sense as a business decision so I understand. So with that said he suggest that if people are interested to call them and ask if they are going to make an exhaust and if they get enough calls it makes them realize there is a demand for it. Not sure who all is buying the ST but I figure most of the guys on here wouldn't be Mad if their exhaust was a little more sporty. I myself am buying an ST as my daily driver because I need something bigger than my Escape (which I did put a magnaflow exhaust on) but I still would like a few mods for it and exhaust is top of the list. I don't want it to sound like a honda civic with one of those coffee can exhausts on it but just something a little deeper. I have a GT500 with American Racing Long Tubes, No Cats, and 3 inch all the way back to the mufflers so I have something else in the garage that wakes up the neighbors..LOL but for the ST I would just like a nice exhaust sound. So if you all feel the same way I suggest give them a call and express you would be interested in a aftermarket exhaust system. 13. I am selling my Daily driver 2014 escape to purchase a edge then decided I should just get the Edge ST since it is more performance than a normal edge. I never buy new vehicles going into winter because I can't keep them clean enough..LOL but hopefully all these little bugs get fixed, and for me someone makes an exhaust for this car. Sadly calling Borla, Magnaflow, Gibson, and Flowmaster all have said they don't have anything but Borla is kicking it around but they would need a test vehicle at their CA location to use for mockup. JLT won't be making a cold air intake for it so not sure who else would, but for tuning most places that tune mustangs said they could dyno tune for sure but there goes the warranty I know this isn't a hotrod suv like other brands make but I hope someone makes some parts for this car, especially the exhaust our local dealer has one and won't let you drive it but he did start it up and rev it and it sounds so weak
  14. Let us know Tmarsh the before and after the tune.... I reached out to 2 tuners that tune mustangs and they said they can do a tune for a 2.7 TT. But sounds like LMS might have it nailed down already.
  15. Hello Everyone I am happy to find this forum... I am a die hard Ford Fan and have owned about everything Ford has sold and now I am gunning for the new ST Edge in 2019 as my new daily driver. Currently have a 2014 Escape 2.0 Turbo Titanium for my daily and love the car but need more room so the Edge is really the best jump up for me. Was looking at a 2018 Sport but the dealer told me about the ST coming so I figure I should just hold off and see what that is all about. I am not going to track the ST so not worried about any of that but do like the extra HP and torque it offers and I like it coming with a 8 speed. Hopefully it won't be crazy priced because it is a ST and if so will just go back to a 2018 Sport. I have a modified 2007 GT500 I purchased new which is my toy but thinking the edge would be allot of fun to get some more power out of also Anyhow once I get it I am sure I will at least change the exhaust, do an intake if it makes sense and as the warranty comes to an end have it tuned by the guy that does my mustangs but will see what all you guys do with yours. Anyhow look forward to the future on this forum.. Bill
