  1. Sort of like superman and krypton? I'll have to give that a try. Thanks Lenny (null)
  2. I know I'm not an owner of an edge anymore, but this site has been so much help in the past and the escape sites are a little quiet right now, so I figured I would ask my question here. What is the best size pic to fill the full screen on my 2013 escape with myford touch? Thanks Lenny
  3. This might be a dumb question, but I'll ask anyway. I've always liked to keep a Sapir key in the car in case I lost mine. With the keypad access on the outside, I would be able to punch in my code to unlock the door grab my Spair key and be on my way. Now with the push button start, if I leave the fab in the car, someone could get access to the vehicle and drive off. Is there a way to accomplish what I'm trying to do (short of removing the battery) Thanks Lenny
  4. I ended up getting $18000. For mine. Just about $19000. Out the door
  5. Hi all, Since I'm still waiting for my Titanium Escape to come in, I was wondering if anyone new a good starting place to start educating my self on the Myford touch system. I tried googling but every thing was very vague. It appairs that I might be better off taking some time off of work and sit in the car and play with it. (looks like I might need a week off).. Thanks in advance Lenny
  6. Yes, it's the drain. Mine did the same thing when turning left. Water hitting the impeller on the cooling / heating fan. See my post above, very easy... Good luck
  7. Well, I pulled the trigger. A 4 wheel drive black fully loaded Titanium. I sure hope i will be happy with it. This board has been great, I hope there's an escape board that's as good as this one. I'm sure I'll still be lurking around on this one also. Thanks every one! Lenny (null)
  8. Thanks everyone, I stoped at the dealer to take a look and ride. They did not have any Titaniams so I drove a Sel with the smaller engine. I did like the interior a lot, they way it drove and power was ok. The external look was not as sharp as I was hoping. The interior of the new edge is is a lot like my edge minus the updated electronics, I'm thinking I want something different so I'm leaning towards the escape. With a different exterior color one that I like, the exterior should grow on me. The dealer though me a curve ball by telling me they will give me $13500 for mine. It's a 08 awd limited with nav and 56k miles, not as much as I thought. Im going back Monday or Tuesday when they get a Titaniams for me to drive. Needless to say I left a little disappointed. I might go check out a Chevy equinox, I love the way the exterior looks, but know nothing about the avalable options or interior. Im really a ford guy but I guess it won't hurt to look
  9. I really love my 2008 Limited AWD Edge, I would love to replace it with a 2013 Limited Edge, but price is a concern at this time. I was looking for a used 2011 Edge but recently saw a TV add for the Escape and thought this might be a good choice. If I do buy one it will be a loaded Titanium. My only concern is the driver and also the front passenger room. I’m so use to the room and comfort driving the Edge that I might be disappointed in the Escape, especially after reading your post about the room inside. I am a big guy, 280 lb 6'1". I will not be towing nor have many passengers in the rear seat or carrying much in the back. Can you enlighten me about the differences in driving both vehicles? Thank you Lenny
  10. I have not driven one yet, but they look pretty sharp. I had a 2005 Escape before my Edge and wasn't crazy about it, but this looks completely new, kind of looks like the newer Chevy Equinox. Does anyone have any input on this? Thank You Lenny
  11. Wow! It's been a long time since I've changed plugs. The last time I changed any, I just opened the hood popped the wires off the plugs and went right after the plugs. It looks slightly more involved now..... (null)
  12. I just had the same problem. My approach was to lift the carpet, disconnect the hose from the floor, then use an air compressor and shot a small blast of air up the tube and the water came pouring out. Less than 5 minuets start to finish. I suppose a shop vac blowing instead of sucking would work as well. Lenny
  13. I was recently informed I had about 10 % of bake life left on my front brakes on my 2008 all wheel drive limited Edge and if I wanted them relaced it would cost me around $425.00. This price was from a dealer. I told them to hold off and took it to local garage Ive used in the past that has been in business over 30 years. They did the job for $150.00 and that included resurficing the rotors. I was just wondering if the dealer does any thing different that would increase the cost that much? I realize dealers are usally higher, but this suprised me.
  14. My A/C Heater blower is starting to make a loud noise. It sounds like a bearing is going bad. Does any one have any idea how to access the motor? I’m not even sure where it is. Thank You Lenny
  15. Is the nav really that bad? Right now I have an 08 and the nav serves me well. Am I to expect the 11 or 12 wont work as well for me as the 08 does? I still haven't made the trip to the dealer for my replacement yet. Lenny
  16. Okay, I'm getting scared away from MFT (I really do want it) but with all the horror stories.... How about a 2011 or 12 with sync and adding a nav from a 2010? I'm okay with no voice comands for the Nav as long as all the other sync functions work for the phone, radio and USB music devices. Just a thought
  17. Im on the Ford Web Site and building my next edge, First, its for a 2011 not a 2012. I selected Limited AWD, 301A package. Then I find the only exterior colors are Black, Kona Blue, White and Silver. Is this correct?? What happened to the reds, earth and Bordeaux reserve red matallic? Lenny
  18. Is there any differences in hardware between the different builds in 2011 and the 2012. I'm about ready to buy, I know the software is still flakey I just want to make sure what ever I buy, the new updates will give me the the least amount of troubles. I'm not reading much here about version 3.11? I'm hoping this is ahold thing. If a used one had a bunch of older updates installed (some that might have not been done or took right) do they wipe the whole system? Or do they just keep installing over the old? I know on my home pcs I gave better luck formatting and reinstalling the os. Thanks Lenny
  19. The 2011 owners manual says: "Do not tow till the vehicle has been driven 1000 miles"
  20. I just posted my experience on another thread. Could be the way I drive. My 08 AWD with 50k miles has consistently gotten 13mpg city 24 highway over the 3 years I've owned it. I have checked this manually as well as the on board computer. My City driving is mostly stop and go. When you check your City miles, try resetting avarge speed and see what that is. Mine is 15mph. I think that explains my 13mpg. My three prior vehicles, 2 Explorers V6 and a Excape v6 all got the same City mpg (around 12-13)

  22. So, would you buy the car again knowing what you know know?
  23. If it needs to be recharged doesn't that meen there's a leak? My 08 is so so, but every car I had since the change from R12 has been so so. I use to be able to form frost on the windows of those cars. I was told the new gas's need more air flow, that's why they work better at highway speeds.
