If it needs to be recharged doesn't that meen there's a leak? My 08 is so so, but every car I had since the change from R12 has been so so. I use to be able to form frost on the windows of those cars. I was told the new gas's need more air flow, that's why they work better at highway speeds.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I'm driving an 08 limited now with sync and nav and it's been great. I'm ready to make the leap to a 11 or 12 and the selling point is the MFT. Needless to say I'm having second thoughts also from reading this board or just Google searches. Im kind of in a holding pattern. Lenny

Thank you, I will follow up in this. Also, I do not have a ESP. I was told that the actual reprogram was $100.00 and that was what the deductabe was also. I did say to them that if I knew that I wouldn't of had it done. He said let me see what I could do and came back and knocked 20 bucks off. Like I said I really don't want to make a huge deal out of this because they are always great with me and there isn't another dealer in my area. Especially that I'm prety sure I'll be trading in for a 11 or 12 with the My Touch and from what I've been reading about it and all the problems with it, I'll need them on my side..., And yes I'm in the US Thanks again! Okay, let me re-frase I like my dealer and they have always gone out of there way to help me. If there's deductible that's fine. I just want to make sure I'm not getting f &@@)& I really don't want to get into a pissing contest over $100.00 So, my real question is, is there a deductible or not? Thanks again Lenny

Where can I find where it says that there is a $100.00 deductible for power trane work? My 08 Edge has 45k miles and at times at low speeds the car would bang in and out of gear. The dealer said there was a TSB for this and reprogramed the transmition. I said okay since I was already there getting the vehical serviced. When I picked it up, they charged me for doing it. In all fairness they did knock off $20.00 bucks. I just can not find this figure anyware in the warranty book. Thanks Lenny

Thank you, I did find it. The connections where actually made in the drivers side A-Piller.

In case anyone was wondering, the wiring was tied into a harness and connector behind the drivers side A-Piller. So, the TSB is out and I'm back to using the rear view mirror microphone.

Does anyone know where the sync hardware is located in my 08 limited? Im guesing this is where the mike hooks into and where the factory miror mike hooked into. If I can locate it it might be easy to rehook up the mirror mike. Just a thought?? Thanks Lenny

A little, they installed mine next to the overhead sunglas holder. If I was to do it again I'd put it directly in front of the driver.

Its been more than a year, I'll check anyway. I just figured it cant be to hard to reconect the old one, just have to figure iut where every thing conects to??

I had the dealer install this on my 08, it stopped working once and they repaired it under warranty. Well it stopped working again and no more warranty. Can anyone give me any advice on reconnecting the original mike (the one in the mirror) its still there. I was hoping for some direction. Thank You Lenny

Your back one needs changing....

Well I had a squeak from the drivers side also, dealer said it was the weather strippng on the drivers door and the lubed it. That did not work, After spending some time I found it, it was in the door latch, Sprayed the latch with wd-40 and it is now nice and qiet. Good luck Lenny

The Dealer who fixed mine told me that the repair is covered up the 6/60k power train coverage. My repair was permormed at around 30k miles, even if I had to have the repair done myself out side the warranty, I dont think it would be an outrages cost. Its only a seal kit and around a 3 hour repair. (I could be wrong though) What Im trying to say is, If your thinking of an extented warranty just for the PTU seal I dont think its worth it. Those warrantys are very expensive. On the other hand, if you plan on keeping the vehical a long time and want all around piece of mind, thats a diferent story.

Well I know is the information that was on my paper work: TSB 09-25-7 Part # 8T4Z 7275 CC As far as I know its only seal, so I dont think the parts are very expensive. Labor was about 3 or 31/2 hours. Thats about all I can tell you.

Wow, I can not believe how bad some dealers are!! Ford needs to dump some of these dealers. If it was me, I would go back get my missing parts back and go to a diferent dealer. My dealer has been fantastic, even when I had the PTU seal replaced, it only took them 3 hours but the gave me a loaner anyway. They offered it to me I did not ask. Good luck

Ya, my repair only took a few hrs. Delear even gave me a loaner. No complaints here.

Well as I turned right into Pep Boys to pick up the new bulb the blinker started working again. The bulb must be loose or the socket might have some corrosion in it. Ill pull it apart and post back. Pep Boys did not have the lamp anyway, The owners manual says the bulb is a 4157 K Pep Boys only had 4157 LL not sure of the diference.
