That's interesting, was it the V3.0 update? I also completed the update a month or two ago, but no change to my home screen for the heated steering wheel button unfortunately.

Owners manual says to not drive "too quickly" (whatever that means ?) for the 1st 1,000 miles while engine breaks in. If you really wanted to be safe, you could probably change the oil after that initial break in. The service intervals don't reference the need for the 1st oil change to be performed prior to the normal interval of 7,500 - 10,000 miles. Although I personally won't ever wait that long for oil changes because I drive a bit more spirited & my experience with turbo engines. This is one of those topics similar to "what oil brand should I use". I'm sure you'll get a range of answers across the board! I'd say go with whatever makes you feel most comfortable. For what it's worth as a point of reference, the previous race engine I built had break-in oil until 400 miles, changed again at 600 miles, again at 1,000 miles and one last time at 1,300 with full synthetic. The tolerances of the 2.7 eco boost are less aggressive so you should experience much less break in wear. If I had purchased my Sport new, I'd probably be changing it around 1,000 miles give or take. Like poster above though, I don't have technical info on the Edge in regards to that requirement outside what is referenced in the owners manual.

At least they were able to recreate the issue when the tech drove the car. That's a big part of getting an automaker's attention to look into issues. Here's to hoping they have it resolved quickly for you!

Probably sounds like a dumb question, but where are you finding the price? Just went to MF website and for me it was showing "currently under development". I also thought MF doesn't sell directly off their site. Although this is promising! Kind of hoping it might be able to be tweaked to fit my Sport ?. Good find!

I use a free app called Fuelly. Pretty basic, but you input mileage in, how many gals and cost and will track your progress as you fill up each time. Pretty neat app if you're into tracking those sorts of things (I'm a data guy so I live for this stuff lol). Congrats on the ST, I'm jealous! Hope you're enjoying it for the most part.

I don't have an ST, but have the Sport & also live in Upstate NY (little north of Albany). The idling will definitely hurt your MPGs, but will depending how long its warming for. I do know new cars tend to get worse gas mileage and will increase a bit as the car breaks in. While your 2.7 has a bit different tuning than mine and the ability to disconnect the rear wheels completely, I'm betting gas mileage will be darn similar. I track my fuel economy using a phone app. Through the couple months I've owned the Edge, here is what I'm getting.***One note I've been using 93 octane for every fill up except 1 or 2 which I used ethanol free 91 octane. I dind't see much of an improvement/change with the 91, so I went back to 93. After 2133 miles, I'm average 19.5 MPG. This differs quite a bit from what my trip computer says. I have not reset over the 2133 miles and it's showing closer to 21 mpg. Have you tried calculating your MPG manually, definitely possible your trip computer is not accurate. Like the poster above, manually is your best bet for accurate figures.

This is my experience as well. The dealer will always have "low inventory" or "several buyers" looking for "your car" where they will give you a "great deal" on a new car. BUT like you said OP, your payments are up in April. I'm the kind of person that doesn't like car payments, so for me that would be a check in the "no new car" box. However everyone has their preference on car payments. That being said, they are kind of apples to oranges in my opinion. TI vs SI are different motors and different suspension/brake setups, so perhaps you think about it more along the lines of what are you looking for out of your Edge? I see you have a couple of quick cars, so if you're Edge is more a hauler my vote would be to keep the TI. One last thing to consider, while its not a completely new car for 2019, lots of new parts and redesign. First year of redesign always ends up having some type of first year bugs that will be worked out for 2020+. My first car was a '64 Chevelle Malibu, boy what I'd give to have had a 496 in there!

How are the lens covers, do they have much clouding/hazing? Are you happy with the high beam coverage/brightness?

You should have them give you the runout readings from the balancing if they can, just to make sure they did truly get into spec. I know this option is annoying but..... may be worth bringing your car to another dealership/indy shop and have them balanced there. If you have a good shop you trust, let them know the dealership is having issues balancing and see if they don't mind trying and getting their thoughts. Something else to check, see how many weights they used to get the tires/wheels balanced. If there is one or several with what seems like an over-abundance of wheel weights, I wonder if you have an out of round rim that needs replacing. One other thing (but less likely), would be brake rotor warped or caliper stuck. Does it get any worse/no different when braking?

I've been following your ST since you started having the issues. Glad you finally got the ST back at home & sorry about the issues, what a nightmare from the sounds of it! Isn't it crazy a couple of seals/leaks can cause so much needing to be removed to fix. One thing I did want to say, and I know you were mulling over your options.... I wouldn't be too concerned about those issues causing others down the road. Of course there are tons of variables, but coming from a family of mechanics, having to removal and reinstall doesn't normally cause quality/longevity issues down the road.... although I can certainly understand the apprehension when a new car has issues out of the gate that take a month to resolve. Hoping for your sake those are the only two issues you will run into for a few years! Will be interesting to see if those are common issues once a few more STs have been sold and are on the road. Either way, hope the wife is able to enjoy some wheel time

Looks like Magnaflow might have a catback kit for the Sport? I'm guessing it would fit the ST or at least be pretty darn close for a lot less R&D to make it fit on the ST. https://www.morepowertuning.com/mf-19048

I'm jealous! Wish I had a new ST :). What are your thoughts on how the tune affects your warranty?

I actually have the window sticker & can confirm that it is AWD. Completely agree on the winter tires being better in the snow. I may pick up a set at some point, but will likely ride out this winter. There are some decent all-season tires on there now, but need to find me a set of winter alloys :) I'm less concerned with getting good traction in the snow due to tires, trying more to figure out if my AWD is working as it should or if there were settings I was unaware of. I didn't want to band-aid the issue with winter tires if my rear wheels aren't engaging properly. Sounds like i should look into the PTU/RDU a bit more and see if that is causing the issues. Still under the bumper-to-bumper warranty so at least if anything is wrong, should be covered by Ford. Thanks again everything for some ideas, will keep digging into it to see what I can come up with.
