  1. I do remember being given those, I have them filed at home. I will double check about the tire warranty, dealer said they do not cover tires, even during warranty period. And I do have a manual. However, the experience on the forum to me is better reading sometimes, especially with something goofy like this. As for the 5k oil changes, it is some special deal that came with the Edge. Good for two years, and have to get oil changed between 5-6 k, no more no less. I got attitude because I came in at 7500, 'not supposed to allow this' I was told, like I was a criminal. I told the guy to charge me if it was such a big deal. And on top of it I got it mixed up with some Ford Advantage card I was sent. Found out that is different, it is like point toward new cars and stuff for cars. They did not charge me. Guess the guy thought he was the man letting a girl get away with it. Made me wait two hours though. I was the only one there. Two questionable experiences there, won't be going back.
  2. I just called the dealer near me here at work. He said to bring it by and they would switch the front tires to see if maybe the problem is radial pull from a defective tire. If it is I have to go to a tire dealer and mess with them regarding warranty. If it is not they will see what it is. So I am going to try to go Monday morning on the way in and get it looked at.
  3. That is exactly what I hoped was going on, but I have driven it 400 miles since and it is just as bad, so I am convinced it is not going away. I would think that you would definitely want to rotate so the front or back is not bald (depending on which moves the car). My sister has a Torrent, AWD which I believe is FWD unless the AWD kicks in, had completely bald front tires. I asked her what the heck happened, don't you rotate your tires? She said no. And she must drive like a nut, because she had to get new front tires at 34k or so.
  4. Yep, they are like HMO's.
  5. Interesting. Why is that?
  6. Tell me this. Is 7500 miles too long between rotations? I ask because unfortunately I do not get it serviced at the really nice dealership that I bought it at. The guy gave me a lot of attitude because I made a mistake about servicing it. It came with free oil changes for two years, and I do remember them saying something about 5k between, I goofed because the computer said 7500 miles for the first change, so I went with that. I guess I broke a big rule. So just wondering if they can tell me it is MY fault that the tires went unrotated or something like that. I have til Wed afternoon to figure this out then it is parked for awhile. Thinking about taking it to a dealer here by work and asking them to look at it instead of trying to figure this out myself. I ordered touchup paint from them and they just gave it to me, so seem like decent people. What do you think? Sorry to ramble, this is creating extra stress.
  7. I will look for the weights tonite when I leave work. I will check the receipt to see if 'balancing ' is on there. Are you saying that the individual tire(s) could be out of balance, they should check them each time? What would change? Is an alignment actually a warranty item? Outside of the weights, what would cause a new car to go out of alignment with a tire rotation?
  8. Two weeks ago tomorrow I had my first service at 7500 miles. They changed the oil and rotated the tires. Ever since, it has been pulling to the left, enough to be really aggravating. I thought it would correct itself after a few days, didn't. I have not called them, hoping to get some insight before dealing with those people and I really do not have time to take it back. Thanks everyone.
  9. I am sticking my tongue out in your general direction.
  10. What about getting an artists brush? I think you can get brushes with like two hairs on them and really tiny ones.
  11. The iPhone is a red fruit also. I unplug my iPod Nano if I will be away from the car things like all day at work, overnite etc. To go, I plug it in, press media and tell it USB. I have found that if I make short stops that it will resume on it's own, longer stops tend to make it forget it is plugged in, so I press Media and tell it USB and it starts over. Try that. PS-I used to use my iPhone as an mp3 and wound up having problems getting calls and freezing up the phone, so I bought a Nano.
  12. Have you tested it with speakers or headphones to make sure that it is not the ipod? Usually a reboot fixes everything. Or it could be set on repeat. On the iPod touch there is an icon above the album picture that looks like wiggly arrows that allows you to repeat or not repeat.
  13. Unplug the ipod, turn off/turn on and shuffle the songs before plugging back in. I have this problem too.
  14. I think that means it was never activated.
  15. I had a new metal bumper cover painted for my Blazer a few years ago. Less surface area and different material than the Edge, it was around $300.00 just for the paint. No removal or installation or part included in that price. When my rear bumper was dinged by someone like yourself on the same vehicle, bodyshop told me that to do it right it would have to have all paint removed and reprimed and repainted for it to be like new. Like bbf said, no shortcuts to make it less $$.
  16. The 3M tape on that thing is not going anywhere. On my Blazer I had the vent shades and the door sill protectors and they used the same tape, held for almost 8 years in the heat and rain and bitter cold, no problems.
  17. I am incredibly picky also, prob worse than anyone especially with my car and why it took so long to find one that I was willing to invest in to try. I get it from my dad. I showed him my handywork and he was actually impressed with the look and the fit, so that is quite the stamp of approval to me. He would have said something if it looked at all offensive. Someone needs to design one for the Edge-same concept just sharper turns.
  18. It is not exact, but it looks darn good and much better than chipped paint and scratches, and it is tough. The Ford vinyl one does not protect the corners, this one does. Those of us that have one now are very happy with the results, it took me months of research to find something to fit this well.
  19. Glad to hear that part of it is going your way. I was at the dealer Saturday to get my stuff done and I went into the showroom to get a 2010 brochure. I got the itch already. Looking at it I like the Sport but thought about the wear and tear the lower parts get, and to have them painted I think maybe makes it worse. And now in your case it is damaged and you can replace it without bodywork. So I think I will stay with an SEL in the future.
  20. If we ever do not hear from you for awhile, we'll know where to look for you. Don't drop the soap.
  21. Lex, you are in CA right? I thought they only required the back plate. Is that new? IL is very strict, but I think for most it depends on the city, the cop, the day, the weather, the position of the moon and how thick the ozone is for what happens if you are caught without one. Same with window tint. IL allows none.
  22. Good to know 30-40 days is not a terribly long time, I was not sure. To me it is an eternity to not use your every day car, especially in cold weather. The blocks in my situation are prob not a good idea though. If it snows and I need to get somewhere at some point my mom may have to drive it. She has a Camaro, not the best in the snow. Need to have it at the ready. I will put a extra air in the tires. I usually do in the winter anyway for adjust for the cold air. Thanks. :shades:
  23. Back in the 60's or early 70's (?-don't remember every detail of the story) my grandfather bought a new car and there was a noise coming from one of the doors that no one could figure out. My grandpa was a mechanic and owned a Union 76 station until the 70's, so he went looking for it. Removed the passenger door panel and found a whiskey bottle.
  24. Good advice, I will be sure to fill up. And I did not think about the tires, so I will be sure to move it when I can. Thanks guys.
  25. Is anyone else noticing a pattern here and in the auto locks topic?
