Hi back bbf. :shades: This is a picture I grabbed off of the internet. These wheels are a fuzz different than the ones in the topic picture, the centers.

I have awd but have the other variety of 18" chrome wheels. These wheels are an additional cost option on fwd and awd as far as I know. Lex, akirby, bbf where are you guys to settle this?

Don't think so on the chrome clad. It is a rim with a plastic cover with chrome on it.

They are not Mercury rims. They have the Ford emblem. They are the Ford Edge chrome clad rims, one of two styles.

There are two styles of the chrome clad rims, that is one of them. The other has more spokes evenly spaced.

That is called a bait and switch. It is unfortunate that car dealers cannot clean up their acts. I would take it right over there and make them fix it, and if it is not done to your liking call Ford.

The outline is what makes me wonder if it burned in the sun. Bad repair is a good thought too, like the patch fell off. If it was bought new that would be lame!

When the volume goes down it is VERY low and the beeping quite loud. Does yours beep at all, can you hear it over the radio?

That is a very weird tear. Jagged on one side and not on the other, nothing matches up. It looks more like a hole blown in it than a tear. Could it have burned or melted from heat?

Can I put one in my 2008?

I checked mine today. Set the volume for so many bars and backed out of the garage. My backup always beeps because I have a little one car garage and it picks up the garage door rails or something. Anyway, the volume went down while it beeped and went back to the set volume when the beeping stopped.

Anyone that concerned about fuel consumption should not drive an suv anyway. Plenty of those granola burners on the market.

These chrome wheels do make all the difference in how the Edge looks, they are just a pain in every way. I doubt that the plastic chrome makes them lighter, there is still a big ol' rim under it. For $800.00 I would buy a new set of real chrome rims. If I do not buy a new Edge next year I am prob going to replace the plastic rims, mine are showing corrosion already. A long Chicago winter will prob make a mess of them.

It is entirely possible I am remembering wrong or the dealer added on more $$$. I looked at SO many stickers when I was shopping they became a blur. And plenty of them tried to mess with me-I did most of my shopping via internet. When I shopped I only looked at black ones until I found the one I bought. And it has a REALLY nice paint job, I got lucky.

It is the cheap indigo dyes they use nowadays to get the deep colors. Cotton does not hold onto colors like polyester and other synthetic fabrics do. Body heat and friction cause the transfer. Be especially careful with jeans that have a heavy dye smell that does not go away with washing.

I think worse than an imprint. When I had my wreck last year the bodyshop gave me an interesting lesson in airbags. I was t-boned so I did not experience the airbag, but for some reason it came up. Said that the airbag inflates SO quickly and it displaces enough air at enough pressue to blow a sunroof and windows out if the vehicle is closed up. People also break their arms depending on how they are holding the wheel. Airbags are nothing to mess with. When XM radio came out I had one installed and the ding dong wanted to put the mount in front of the passenger airbag. Gotta watch everything these guys do when they work on your car. I say forego the Jesus bars.

What part of the Midwest were you in? How much actual drilling goes into putting these in? Are they by chance putting these in the newer Edge models or still using the stick?
