So what would be the difference between the sides that one has a bar and the other does not? Is the airbag setup different for the driver? Stylin' Trucks is a truck mod site. Maybe a call to them? Also, the people modifying your controls, etc should know something about this shouldn't they? Sounds like something a lot of people would need in that situation.

The one on the passenger side used to be normal, AKA the Jesus Bar. My Blazer had one above the passenter airbag.

Any time you have an oh s*** moment while driving, seriously, your hands should be on the steering wheel.

LOL! You think your Edge is all that now, huh? That is a great pic. I will grab one of mine and post this evening. Looks about the same. As you can see, to even see it you have to be on one side and get down and look it in the eye, and in the sun. To me better than the ding I had, and what else may have happened. I use mine to move a lot of stuff around, so lots of potential. Be back in a bit with a pic.

If you tromp on the gas, it will not like it and will hesitate.

Yes, I noticed that tonite. I took a close look after something was said about the pictures. Did not notice the difference when I put it on, but it looks good still I think also. There is just nothing else out there with the lip that is close to fitting, nothing even close. I had damage to the edge where it angles, so the ones made for it would not have covered that. It was a fun quest, I love threads that get everyone talking. :stats: I am so glad you like it. Will you please post a picture?

Actually, it is plastic. It is slightly flexible. The turn in the bumper was the crucial part, and why I took so long to find something. On Sundays I would go to the car lots and roam around looking for a match. Later I can post a close close up of a corner.

I have AWD and have spent most of the summer driving in the rain. Have never spun the tires or lost traction. I LOVE how it takes corners in the rain. Guessing you would maybe see some action from it in the snow?

It makes the turn. It is quite thick with a little sheen, and I am not a good photographer. Like I said, I added a small piece of tape to the middle and each end of the lip to keep it there. I am an incredibly and annoying picky perfectionist and I would have left it off and started over before I would have left a gappy bumper protector on there.

I have an 08 SEL. Very oddly equipped and it was left over, got it in Feb this year with 29 miles on it. Guessing how odd it is equipped is why. SEL AWD with cloth (which I wanted), backup sensors, 18" shiny wheels upgrade and auto liftgate, SYNC. Also a DVD player that I need like a hole in the head-$1200.00 option. But has the plain radio, no nav, no sunroof and does not have the dual climate control that I keep hearing about. No cool mirrors either. The price was right. At this point I would go with an 09. 2010's are out, should be able to get a good price.

I like mine too, but would not have based buying a car on having them. What I could not live without is the auto lift tailgate. That is the best thing ever. PS-are you sure that none of them have them? Seems odd. Until now I thought most or all of them did.

I could take them or leave them.

I agree, don't bother. I read somewhere that it is a scam, just like the paint protection the dealers try to sell people. I highly doubt rustproofing a put together car would even help, would miss a lot anyway. We have something in common. I traded in my 2001 Blazer with about 120k miles on it for my Edge. Lot of repairs and an accident that did not help things. This past winter before I traded it in my four wheel drive went out constantly. It ran on some kind of pressure system using a diaphram. Replaced it with an aftermarket part, didn't work. Only thing that worked was putting the old one back and using a paperclip and a piece of tape to hold the moving parts in place and covering the hole in the diaphram to work. It got me thru the winter. Having a new car that does not break all of the time has left me with a lot of spare time.

A 2007 with 6k miles would be a found treasure! Guessing he did mean 60k. Wear and tear just like brakes, tires, shocks etc. And having experienced this, if it started at 6k and he let it go that long, the wheels would have fallen off. No way (likely) it is the same thing.

Wear and tear. I went thru two on my Blazer.

Could not get it on. Could not get it to line up right. Seemed the way it wanted to fit naturally was way too close to the hood. Very hard to get it to curve at the edges. Had to stop drilling holes. I painted them all back up and the bug shield is living on top of the ladder in my garage. Ford puts Ikea instructions in with it. With all of the pictures, a better diagram with hole placement would help a lot, at least get us in the neighborhood. Ticks me off because I have had countless bugshields on my Chevy's and they were no problem. But I am sure it is me, everyone else seems to be able to do it no problem. Thinking about taping it on instead.

I searched bizrate.com and it is still the cheapest one out there and free shipping. Next lowest price was $69.00.

It went up? No way! Still a good price. I saw them for over $80.00 on some sites. It is a really nice item, worth the money at twice the price I think. I did think about ordering something to get the free shipping. But I think then they send it ground and it takes forever and the packages are destroyed being on a truck so long. I was too excited to wait. :happy feet: It took me a long time to decide that I made the right choice. Luckily I did and do not have any 'mistakes' to unload.

Man, you took all of the fun out of it. Yep, a Toyota Scion xb. Until I started trolling the used car lots I would have never ever guessed that they are as wide as an Edge. Those things are designed like a UPS truck. Murano too small and curvy. CX-9 to roundy. Everything else with that shape of a bumper was just too small. Geez these things are wide. Minivan ones were just fugly. And had to be installed with epoxy and I wanted nothing to do with that. Part # 114001. Bushwacker brand, very nice. Thick and sturdy. Nice look to it. Got it at www.streetsideauto.com for $47.40 plus $9.95 shipping. Cheapest price out there by FAR, don't bother looking for it cheaper anywhere else. Got it in two days. The lip covers both edges that come down on the bumper. Also wide enough to cover the bumper front to back and the full width side to side. It has three rows of 3M adhesive, the strong stuff on the back. I happened to have a roll of the same stuff so I added a little piece on each end and the middle of the lip. There is no tape on that part. The protector has a very slight curve at each end but easily bends out to fit the Edge. The lines on it make it easy to center with the latch for the tailgate, install with the back open. Did not have to goof around with painters tape and measuring at all. When I put it on I put the lip over the edge and then brought it forward and down, opposite of the instructions. And ignore the part about pulling the tape gradually. The tool that is included I still have not figured out what I was supposed to do with it. Peel off the tape and stick it on, again start with the lip. Having someone help would be good, one on each side. It does not come with an alcohol pad so I used some rubbing alcohol to clean the bumper. Let me know if I forgot any info. This was fun. Now will someone help me with my bugshield?

Neither of those, sorry. Think outside the box.
