  1. Will put up pics of my Valentine hard wire mount tomorrow. Cant help with wire colors as I ran it from the fuse box.
  2. I got mine in july 2009. I just told them what I wanted (35 watt/4300K) and they sent a kit with the capacitors and resistors incorporated in the harness. Great kit & service.
  3. I thought the 55 watt would be too bright also. I got the 35 watt w/4300K bulbs. The harness provided by Restro had the resistors wired in to keep the "bulb out light" from comming on.
  4. I have had the Restrosolutions HID kit for 8 mos. and have been extremely happy with the kit. Havent had any problems. They are knowledgeable about what is needed to produce a kit for the Linc/Edge. There are cheaper HID kits but you can have problems as you can see by doing a search for HID in the forum. Resto is a fair price and a good product. IMHO The bulbs are mounted into the projector and do move with the light. The HID bulb moves the same as the halogen bulb does since it is mounted in the same place.. Dont fall for the Plug&play BS as anything that is good will take a little effort. Let me know if you have any questions. I think this is one of the best modifications that can be done to the MKX.
  5. Hay akirby, the guy made a mistake. An assumption that is logical and understandable can be wrong. In many years of changing oil I have never looked at the manual to see what filter to get. That info was always gleaned at the parts store. Lighten up.....
  6. I just had the lower body parts that are black painted body color. Not a Kit but I like the look.
  7. This guy made his own: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/1630-didnt-get-cargo-management-make-your-own/
  8. Wow...Sorry to hear about your problem. Was wondering where you were with the speakers. Bet you will be happy with the new ones. Good luck....
  9. Fords are great cars. My other car is Merc. Mountainerer. Lincolns are different. Styling, interior layout, ect. Yes running gear is the same. If you are concerned with $ then Lincoln is not for you, however calling it an overpriced Ford is not accurate. I do wonder why you choose to jump on my post about K-cars, you being a proud owner of a reasonably priced Ford. Whatever......Live well and have a good day.
  10. Very good second thought Bender. You sure wouldnt want to be like the Euro Trash crowd. They put down all other makes while riceing out their rides. I guess you gotta be a Kraut car owner to understand.......
  11. You can use this site to figure out the diameter of different tire sizes and what they would do the your speedometer . Tire sales sites should give you the width of the tires.. Once you lower the E measure the clearance and see what you can fit in there. Sorry I couldnt be more helpful but the spring sellers may have some help or just be there when they put the springs and with the E on the rack..measure it up... http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html
  12. Just put the arm rest down and the middle headrest will disappear. That, and using the side mirrors, will help a lot.
  13. 245 - 60 -18 tires are the same diameter as 245 - 50 - 20 tires.
  14. I ran Coopers on my 99 Cad. STS and was very impressed with them. MI winters require good traction and my driving style needs the help of good handeling . Got both w/Coopers. When the MKX needs tires it will be Coopers.
  15. Although, there would be a deductible and perhaps a premium charge/surcharge for 1 or 2 "at fault" accidents. (Cant blame the road). The increased premium charges for probably a 3 yr. period would be more than the wheels. Seems you would have as much of a chance of recovery from the "road commision" as the dealer. IE Not much.

    Brakes

Five seconds seems like enough time for a reaction if it is a situation you had planned/thought about/remotely considered. When the shat hits the fan we all react differently. From instantaneous to freeze up. Almost impossible for most to "learn" how to handle something that is never supposed to happen. I, myself, have no idea what to do when; "The sky is falling."
  17. Well at least it wasn't a totaly bad day. You got to get an early beer. Not all bad....... :yup:
  18. Boy!! Glad we got that straightened out.
  19. I just saw a Ford Flex ad on TV and it showed a slide out side mirror. The kind used for towing. Could the mirrors be the same? Something to look at....
  20. Maby something to do with the Toyota throttle sticking problem? Brake overrides the throttle? Just a guess....
  21. Just replaced ours on an 07 MKX 29,000mi. Looked real bad. If it were an engine air filter the car probably wouldnt have run. Thanks to all for the pics and info. Made the job quick & easy. Later, Bill Oh ya, It did make a noticeable in the air flow. Didnt realize it was lowered as I got the car 9 mos ago. Wont wait so long next time.......
  22. Ya, if you already have a scratch the herc. or linex would be the way to go. A pro application, IMO would be the way to go as that Herc stuff is a real bitch to work with.
  23. Why did you use 10w30 when Ford calls for 5w20? I understand that your post was an ad for Amsoil oil business, but why not use the recommended viscosity?
