    3.7L

I thought the Lincoln MKX was already getting the 3.7L but apparently not. Am I thinking ot the Mazda CX-9 maybe? Does Ford even have a 3.7l version and it so, will it make it's way to the Edge/MKX?
  2. That MKT is definitely ugly.
  3. I have a '08 Edge and an '08 Fusion. I'd have to turn the Edge fan speed up to about Level 3 to equal the same air flow push that the Fusion has on Level 1. I too have replaced my air filter and it didn't make much difference. And don't get me started on that sorry puff of air that emanates from the rear air vents. I can remember the days when the Explorer uses to have a dedicated fan motor for the rear air that came out for the rear vents on the center console. Man it was great. You could sandblast rust off of chrome with that air flow. But later they removed the secondary fan motor so you pretty much were forced to buy the ceiling A/C system. Not sure it it's standard now since I stoppd buying Explorers in favor of the Edge. I have never really been satisfied with the Edge A/C but I love the car otherwise and would but it again. I guess if it's all you'e use to then you might think its adequete but when you compare the Edge to other vehicles you may find it lacking. I just wish Ford would improve it a bit.
  4. I also have a 2008 Edge. Took delivery 11-2007. Chances are you have the 6P disc. 7P wasn't released until around 4-2008. Let me know id you need some Back-up copies of 7P. I've already helped out 4 others on this forum.
  5. Wow, only 1 taker for the 7P disc so far?
  6. If anyone here still does not have 7P yet, just contact me if you want a backup copy.
  7. Oh my gosh, I just pulled out my air filter and boy was it disgustingly filthy. 20k miles and 18 months old and never changed the filter before.
  8. OK I found the Air Filter. Boy is it dirty. I just ordered (2) new filter here for $3.74 each. http://www.logical-source.com/2008-FORD-EDGE-8770.html I'm not certain if these are any better than the factory filter. Probably just the same since it reads stock OEM replacement. I want good filter but I don't want to restrict air flow. The Edge's A/C fan already barely pushed are as it is.
  9. Forgive my ignorance, but are you referring to the Window Wipers? Also, I have the 2008 Edge and I didn't think it had an air filter. If it does, can you tell me how to access it?
  10. OK, I still have 6P. I'm in a growing county in FL and I'm finding half the roads aren't coming up on my map. Starting to get frustrating since I'm new to the area and have become highly dependent on the DVD Nav. Before I drop bank on the 7P DVD, is the 8P DVD due out soon?
  11. Darn, why couldn't they have offered that color blue on the '08 models. That's exactly what I wanted. I guess the Vapor Silver will have to due for now.
  12. High and Low? I thought it was either On or Off. On my 500 it was Butt and Back or just Butt Only.
  13. I'd like to be able to at least read my Blackberry e-mail using Sync. Anyone tried this yet. Since e-mail is more complex then text messages, I doubt it will work but I thought I'd ask. If it can't be done yet then is needs to be added in a future software upgrade.
  14. Even so, I had nearly 1000 songs and it only took about 10 secs to index.
  15. I had a 2005 Five Hundred Limited with Leather before getting the 2008 Edge Limited. I definitely noticed the seats are harder (firmer) in the Edge. We just drove 1500 mi round trip on a Thanksgiving week vacation and my arse was getting a little sore after only a few hours of driving. Otherwise it doesn't seem to bother me for short trips. FYI, I'm 5'8" 158 lbs. I wouldn't disagree that the bottom of the seat could be a tad softer.
  16. OK I figured it out. First of all the Track reading provided by Sync was accurate. For some reason I am getting a false reading from within Windows Explorer. Anyway, something Marcus said got me thinking that maybe there was more metadata tag info associated with the MP3 file then I was seeing using Windows Explorer. So I downloaded a basic metadata tag editor and removed the tags from Dave Matthews band. (listed as Dave Matthews and also Dave Matthews Band) I manually re-added the Artist, Title, Album info using Windows Explorer. I replaced the MP3's on the USB flash drive with the newly modified ones and performed a Master Reset and all is correct now. The list comes up correctly. I have a few others I still need to correct like Matchbox 20 and Matchbox Twenty but at this point I can officially say it working as expected. This was not really a bug but rather a situation where unexpected results were produced based on Sync reading additional metadata tag info. I dare say most novice Sync users would never have been able to figure this one out on their own. Thanks for the help. Now I can go back to troubleshooting my inconsistent volume levels in Sync. Other thread.
  17. It shouldn't be a case issue. I have the first letter capitalized and the rest lower case. Nothing is in all upper case. As for the MP3 metadata fields, below is a screen capture showing the data I can and have modified. I don't see any options to put in more than one artist. I have try the Factory Defaults and Master Reset shown below but the cached indexing files did not appear to be reset. Here is a screen capture showing both the fact that Sync is only recognizing 776 songs and also that it is incorrectly displaying the Artist's name from a cached index. The USB actually had 1404 songs. I think it's displaying 776 because that was the # of songs I had on the USB flash drive the very first time I ever inserted it into Sync. Also, I know for a fact the the Artist's name in a few case had variations in the spelling but I have since corrected.
  18. I'm pretty sure DRM is not the issue. Besides, some of the problems I'm having is with the artist name not displaying correctly even after I've changed it.
  19. I found a couple small bugs in the Sync when playing MP3's off a USB. I have an 8gb USB Flash Drive. I have close to 100 Artists and 1500 songs stored on it so far. Bug #1 If you know how a MP3 files works, you know that file contains additional data which can be modified buy the user from your file. (right click on file, choose Properties) Anyway, the file time I copied my music to the flash drive I had some of the Artist names set incorrectly. i.e. had some songs under Matchbox 20 and some under Matchbox Twenty Well this caused Sync to display 2 separate artists in the artists list for Matchbox 20. I corrected the files on my PC and replaced them on the USB flash drive. I actually made corrections to about 4 or 5 other artists too. I completely deleted the old files off the flash drive and recopied them. To my surprise, the Sync system still should the various spelling the artists. I performed a Master Reset in the settings menus and also restored factory defaults. Turned the system on/off. Removed and re-inserting the USB flash drive. Nothing seems to work. It seems the artist list index was cached onto the Sync's internal hard drive and I can find a way to clear it. I inserted a different USB flash with different music and it read it fine. Re-inserted my original and still had the original artist list with the misspelled artist’s names. Bug #2 I had nearly 1500 songs on the USB flash drive yet the Sync system on displays 766. This is when I tell it to Play All and/or have it on shuffle mode. I think the very first time I insert it I may have only had 766 songs but now I have 1500. It's seems to shows all the artists and songs if I do a manually search and play by Genre but the Play All doesn’t seem to register all the songs. Very odd. We need a place to report these bugs to Ford/Microsoft so they can get it correct in the next system update. I don't see any feedback links on the syncmyride.com website.
  20. That may be true but it would seem to me the Sync system needs to have a voume control as well.
  21. The only reason to order is to get exactly what you want and not one thing more or less. Too often my local dealer will have trailer tow on most vehicles but that's something I'm not interested in. If you are lucky enough to have found one on the dealer lot that matches your order exactly then go for it. There is no other advantage to ordering.
  22. I just tried it and it made no difference. Thanks though.
  23. Sirius Sat Radio was a $195 option. If it ain't linted on the windows sticker then it's shouldn't be a surprise.
  24. I adjusted the Sync Voice Volume by pressing the hard button "Menu" and then the soft button "Feedback" and then set the Voice Volume to 16. I noticed that the initial Sync dialog starts off at the correct volume but once I speak a selection such as "User Device USB" the Sync system amps up the volume considerably. If I check the Voice Voume it still indicates 16 but it ends up sounding more like 24. (Max Vol is 34) Sure I could set up the Voice Volume setting to 24 to provide a more consistent volume experience however that level is too loud for my tastes. Any suggestions?
  25. I don't like the look of that. Plus having the headrest tilt back kind of defeats the purpose of proper whiplash protection. If I could simply get the headrest to be more inline with the seat then I'd be happy.
