Dingo
Installed it. Removed it and sent it back.
Estuardo Fernandez
Dingo why did you remove it? Did you not like it because....? I know steeda is the best but they don't have for 2013.. I installed an air filter and removed as it lowered my mpg by 1.
Dingo
Way too loud.
samf727
Did you notice any performance or fuel mileage gains? The K&N claim both.. and the noise is most likely due to the metal and not the plastic in the kit. Was it a pleasant sound? I'm seriously considering it - not sure if 10HP is worth $250... BuddyLuh
I'm thinking of getting the K&N intake and Magnaflow exhaust. I hear you SHOULD get a tune after doing these upgrades. Did you get the K&N after? Have any thoughts to share?I'm especially interested because I'm in the Atlantic provinces as well, Newfoundland. Thanks
sixponies
It's not necessary, but it's a good idea so you can maximize the engine's performance through the better breathing intake/exhaust systems. My plan is to install a Gibson 619630 stainless exhaust, K&N 77-2583KS intake, & then buy a SCT X4 w/custom tunes from Torrie at Unleashed Tuning. nckissfan
in my experiences with these kits, just get the filter. The piping is not going to net you much, if anything. The filter will net you a few more mpg's. Don't over oil the filter, will gunk up your MAF sensor
akirby
The filter will net you a few more mpg's. Urban myth. More air does not equal more mpg, nor does K&N claim any increase in mpg.
nckissfan
Urban myth. More air does not equal more mpg, nor does K&N claim any increase in mpg. when I installed a K&N filter on my mustang cobra, I increased my miles per tank by 30-40 miles. So, no urban myth here. akirby
That's anecdotal evidence. There are too many other variables. If that could be repeated reliably in a controlled test environment then K&N would have that plastered all over their website. If you understand how engines work and air/fuel ratios work on a fuel injected engine with MAF then you'd understand why it doesn't work that way.
