1duFos Posted February 4, 2015 Report Share Posted February 4, 2015 Good day, I want to change the battery in my 2010 Edge. Part of the battery is under the front cowl. In order to remove the battery will I need to remove or move the lid of the air box which looks to be in the way to slide and lift the battery out. Any help would be appreciated. akirby Posted February 4, 2015 Report Share Posted February 4, 2015 Unless you've already bought the battery (and if you're in the states) just take it to Advance or some other auto parts store and they'll change it for you in 10 minutes at no extra charge. WWWPerfA_ZN0W Posted February 4, 2015 Report Share Posted February 4, 2015 Second akirby's idea, it's what I did If you do it yourself, the hardest part will be loosening the terminals, next up lifting the battery out of the tray. WWWPerfA_ZN0W Posted February 5, 2015 Report Share Posted February 5, 2015 It is a bit tight due to placement and you are lifting the battery out at an angle to get a grip. Or you could use a battery lifter tool The stiff cabling could be ziptied or something out of the way to provide additional clearance.
