immgar
When is the A7 sc card navigation update due for release? Currently a few versions back, A4, and don't want to update to A6 if A7 will soon be released. Also can I purchased the update version at my dealer? Appreciate a prompt response as I have traveling to do soon. Edited March 20, 2015 by immgar
JOEHIO
Sure would be nice if they gave FREE updates for at least 5 years.
ls973800
I didn't even realize A-6 was the latest. I thought A-5 was. I'll have to start checking on eBay. Last time I checked about a month or so ago, only A-5 cards were being listed.
akirby
Sure would be nice if they gave FREE updates for at least 5 years. The cost would simply be added to the base cost of the vehicle. Either way you're paying for it.
Kitulu
I really don't see why dvd-based (or SD card based) nav systems are still a thing. With cell based, you get real time traffic and road closure updates. Even when using Here+ on my Windows phone I can download current maps for use when I have no signal. akirby
Because of the monthly cell phone cost, multiple providers, different coverage areas, obsolescence of the cell radio, etc etc. GM is trying it but they also tried and failed with on star. cv27
Because of the monthly cell phone cost, multiple providers, different coverage areas, obsolescence of the cell radio, etc etc. GM is trying it but they also tried and failed with on star. The way it could have gone was using the Bluetooth pairing, or the WiFi to the phone's access point, to get that info (yes, some app would have been required on the phone). GM's OnStar failed because it required a separate cell account, at a stiff price, that an owner would only use (mostly) in emergencies. OnStar had no customization options, no visual interface, no app ecosystem. The trend will be BYOD to the car to get interactive services. austing
At $178.00 including tax for an item that will only give me Canada and USA but not NA think the upgrade is expensive.
