darienfalks
Hello all, First time poster here. I am looking to purchase a used Subwoofer enclosure for my base model MKX. I will also be purchasing a better unit to put in this as well and I already have a amp to replace the factory one. Has anyone done this before? Looks pretty easy, I figured I'd go with the OEM unit cause I need the hauling space. Can't have any boxes back there.
enigma-2
Ebay, OEM - $125 + $16.29 s/h. Fits a 2010 (don't know if it also would fit your 08). You could write and ask, they should know. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2010-LINCOLN-MKX-OEM-THX-SUBWOOFER-9A1T-19A067-AA-460909-/151740033119?hash=item235469285f&vxp=mtr#ht_2717wt_986 Edited August 27, 2015 by enigma-
kkreit01
Make sure to beef that plastic OE box up. Add some sound deadener, bedliner, anything to make it more sturdy (add mass). Also seal up all holes. Some even fiberglass around it. Then you should be able to add an aftermarket 8" to your liking -- as long as it's not too deep. onyxbfly
Does anyone know if the OEM radio has a subwoofer output? If not then you may require additional harness/ wiring to make it work. I'd be interested in knowing this as well as this is an excellent idea to adding a sub to edges that do not have one. I.E. like mine for example lol
darienfalks
Thanks for the replies. I too saw that encloser on ebay. The 2010 trimings should be the same.
kkreit01
OEM radiosdo not have a sub out -- unless it already came with a sub from the factory. Any sub addition will require an amp & possibly LOC.
