Mekeri Posted January 13, 2016 Report Share Posted January 13, 2016 Hello! I recently got a 2015 Edge Titanium. Not long after I got it we had rain on and off for two weeks. I quickly noticed that even a short run to the store would leave the entire side of the vehicle and rear lift gate completely covered in road dirt. My question... Do the splash guards actually help prevent even a little of this road dirt spray from plastering the side of my vehicle? I'm not expecting it to stay spotless especially in the rain... but any little bit of help I would greatly appreciate. It's just too cold to wash my car every time it stops raining!! The Ford OEM guards look to be around $45 bucks. Just wanted to see if the $100 investment for front and rear splash guards are worth it. THANKS ALL! enigma-2 Posted January 15, 2016 Report Share Posted January 15, 2016 It's difficult to say inasmuch as if you have them, how would you know what kind of stone damage would have occured had you not had them. That being said, yes, they do seem to block some spray from the side of the car. The real purpose is to protect stones from being thrown up by the tires. Redbow Posted January 15, 2016 Report Share Posted January 15, 2016 My Dearly Departed wife was only 4"11" tall. So I installed running boards to assist her getting in and out. They cut down the splash a bunch, but didn't help the back window much. Besides it gives the Edge that lowered look that I like. Redbow Posted January 16, 2016 Report Share Posted January 16, 2016 Thank you WWWpert. She passed on September 9th. It's been rough, but with the help of a Men's Grief Workshop at the local hospital. And a couple of groups from my Car Club. I'm learning to deal with my new normal. It doesn't get better, you just learn to cope.
