2.0L ecoboost turbo question

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I'm new here. And somewhat new to the ecoboost. I've seen mods such as upgrading the bov to get the sound, however I've also seen people venting the stock bov to atmosphere, my question is how? Any insight on doing it and any harm if any would be great, thank you!

just want to point out that if these are MAF cars, venting to atmosphere will actually hinder performance and fuel mileage. this is because you are venting metered air that the ecu uses for load calculations, along with how much fuel to inject. it will know something is up when the oxygen sensors are registering rich from lack of oxygen. usually the best way to get a sweet BOV sound, without loosing any power, is to get a metal intake with cone filter.

if you have a way to check fuel trims, thats where you will see the ecu removing fuel. tho also a badly bad intake with cause fuel trim issues too
