Quila
I was using Google Maps through Android Auto yesterday when AA decided to just crash on my phone about 5 km before our destination. That was the first time I tried using Google Maps instead of the built in map. Of course, it was the last 2 or 3 km where I needed the map. No problem, I thought, I'll just use voice command to enter the address into the SYNC map. The address was similar to 12345 98 St (different numbers, same format). I couldn't get the GPS to recognize that as an address. I tried saying it several different ways, but nothing seemed to work. I eventually pulled over and typed in the address. Does anyone know what would be the correct way to say an address like that so that the SYNC navigation would recognize it as an address? Next time, I'll make sure the address is saved as a favourite before I leave, but I'm still curious if there's a correct way to say the address. zrt8355
I always say the full address including city and state, minus the ZIP code and that works fine on my Sync 3 system. If not that then I leave out the state, I can't exactly remember which. But I know I do at least say the full street address and city. Quila
I played around with it a bit more last night. It seems I was confusing it by saying BC or British Columbia after the city (the province is BC). It still has a bit of trouble guessing where the house number ends and the street name (number) starts, but at least it gives me a list of options on the screen. enigma-2
Ah, thats the problem. The car was built in Ontario, programmed in English and you're speaking to it in Canadianism. Edited July 25, 2017 by enigma-2
normkol
Speaking of Canada, I was in Montreal last Fall. I spoke, then typed in addresses, in English. No go. I finally typed in the address in French and voila, it was found.
