I’m back on this old thread from February 23 after replacing that brand new RDU and change an oil every 15,000 miles I changed it this week again all kinds of metal shavings and noises coming from it contacted the dealer since buying new and only having 45,000 miles put on it,  they said sorry Only one year warranty so now I’m back deciding to buy another one from China. Definitely not buying a new from Ford Sterling axle garbage or to try to totally delete or bypass the rear RDU if anybody reads this has anybody bypassed this by removing the dry shaft and the axles to the tires

I am with you 100%. I bought a brand new S150 from the ebay seller I suggested. 1 year later I get a bad shudder from the rear. I replaced the rear axles and checked the driveshaft which all look perfect. Dealer said it was differential bushings. I replaced those. No good. I unplug the rear diff and it is gone. So no shavings or anything in the oil but I would guess the clutch is gone. Hitting OK on the dash to clear the error is easier then fixing this POS RDU.
