Single Horn on the 2020

Maybe it's wrong but I didn't want to post this in the old single horn thread. I've watched the video several times in that old thread and I'm pretty sure I could do it. Does anyone know if the procedure is the same on the 2020 Edge? Also, I tried to order the horn from my dealer and his parts list shows nothing but a single horn with bracket not a dual horn and I suspect it the same wimpy horn the factory installed.. When I go to several online Ford parts sites they show the FA1Z-13832-A as the correct horn and not the -B. One even said the -B horn would not fit my vehicle but they both look the same to me.

Thanks

I actually went to my dealer about the horn and got the brush off about how it was Ford's decision to go with one horn and they couldn't fix it. I've held off for almost a year doing something about it but now I'm convinced I need it for safety reasons after almost hitting someone that I'm sure didn't hear my toot toot. I was also concerned about my factory wattanty but it seems like using an OEM horn wouldn't hopefully affect the warranty.

Look for a 2015 - 2018 factory horn. Dealer will say that it won't fit, but it does. Don't have the part number available, but the swap takes less than 20 minutes. Much improved from the wimpy single horn.

I've found a couple and it looks like there's two, a level 2 and a level 3 that are identical in size, maybe one's supposedly louder than the other. I'm going to have to do this though. What initially scared me off initially was an article I saw that said you had to remove the bumper then I discovered that was for a UK model. LOL, I at least have a good 10mm socket and I'm convinced that size socket will dismantle 75% of any recent model car.

So I read that there id a level 3 horn out there? Has anyone confirmed this?

I haven't pulled the trigger on replacing mine but I'd love to see a level 3 before I do.

Yep. I just look and found this

If you replace the single horn with a dual, do you also have to install a relay? In the past, cars with one horn didn't use a relay, but wired direct.

And if they did use a relay, do you have to replace the relay with one to handle the additional current?

I see where FIAMM makes a dual horn replacment kit (for cars with a single horn. There's a YouTube video on how to replace using their kit).

The kit number is 7250722.

What’s the difference between a level two and a level three Horn?

It appears that no one really knows the difference (other ford forums as well).

Looking at a Ford level 3 horn, it "appears" that it may be dual horns in a single housing. (Two separate horns feeding into a single output).

In a level 2 horn, each is replacable. But in a level 3 horn, if either fails, the assy must be replaced.

It "appears" that a level 3 assy can replace dual level two horns (same size wire and relay rating).
