Erock7625
Just picked up a 2012 Ford Edge SEL and was swapping out the bulbs for LED. The drivers side puddle light has a bulb in a rubber boot that pulls out of the side once you pry out the plastic light unit. It’s wire has a quick disconnect as well. The bulb is a standard T10 for that one. However when I went to replace the passenger side the plastic unit is a sealed unit with two wire connections on it so I can’t replace the bulb. Looks like I have to replace the entire unit. Why would the car have different lights and which one is OEM? Thanks!
omar302
The OEM one is the sealed unit like this one. There is actually a bulb inside, but it is not easily replaced. What you can do is get some aftermarket LED replacements (example) that are cheaper than the OEMs and are brighter/whiter. Win-win. enigma-2
Clicked on your "example" but it doesn't take me anywhere. These are what I used, paid extra, but no complaints. Bright and wide pattern. (Example only, there are many to choose from). https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HM8CB3L/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_AK33728MKNJD9GAJF1TK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Edited January 7, 2022 by enigma-

There was supposed to be a link to an Amazon example, thanks for pointing that out. Corrected it now to your example.
Erock7625
So I ordered these and they worked great. Still not sure why the other mirror has a different style light, maybe it was replaced at some point. Not sure if it's worth cutting out the existing single plastic connector and installing the individual blade connectors to put in the OEM style light instead of just replacing the bulb. enigma-2
I agree, for $11 and brighter, not worth the hassel. Only thing I did different was to slap a layer of electrical tape over the connectors. (Didn't want them to short together).
