Struts

Recommended Posts

I have a 2013 Edge 3.5 SEL I replaced my struts and shocks in all four corners 2 years ago with Monroe Monroe quick struts on the front have gone bad. Very spongy ride in the front. I do not just want to replace an out under warranty, I've only driven 10,000 miles in the 2 years, I am thinking of either going KYB strut Plus and KYB shocks and KYB shocks in the back, or purchasing used Motorcraft springs and going Motorcraft. What do you guys think. I have seen some videos where the KYB springs on their strut plus is a little thicker. What's your opinion, I don't put on a whole lot of miles. But still Monroe going bad in 10,000 miles still shouldn't have happened..

Thank you for your feedback..

The KYB assemblies are getting a bit difficult to find, but should work well ... for at at least 60K miles or so.

better yet, KYB struts + moog cargo coils or motorcraft coils + motorcraft strut mounts for a custom assembly that should hold up even longer. there is yet to be a better brand for the mounts than motorcraft for this platform.
