ben senise
i've got a rattle somewhere on the passenger side of my 2020 edge st and it is driving me nuts. i have been searching for it for a year. i've tried stuffing cloths in places, i've zip tied things, i've removed things and it's still there. i cannot diagnose the problem when driving. i need to remove the seat completely and take it out of the car to find out if it's on the seat or somewhere else. i think it may be in the fan unit for the heated/cooled seats. i will need to disconnect the large connector under the seat and i assume that it has airbag related electronics. will the airbag light go on if i disconnect it and drive the car? (which i have to to find the rattle.) will it stay lit after i put the seat back? does forscan allow you to turn it off? my edge is 5 years old and has under 40,000 km on it and it is a f@$%ing rattle trap. just as i hunt one rattle down and cure it, another one appears. i love this car but the rattles are driving me batty. any help would be greatly appreciated. If you disconnect the battery before removing the seat and reconnect it after returning the seat, then the Airbag light will not come on. If you have ForScan, you will be able to reset the codes even if if the light comes on.
