Cascadia
I would appreciate any help on what to do next. Is it ok to caulk where the top part of the leaf trap (cowl vent) and the windshield meet? Should I try something else? My 2007 Ford Edge is leaking rain into the driver side. I removed the carpet to pinpoint it and I believe that I finally did. Here is a quick video of where it is coming from and a follow up video. Things that I have tried: Front windshield replaced by a professional. I cleared the windshield leaf trap. Actually, there was no debris in it to start with. I cleared the leaf trap run off (sorry don't know what it is called but I included it to the clarification video below). Follow up video showing the lower part of the leaf trap thingamabopper. Cascadia
I decided to take off the leaf trap, again. Here is a video. As you can see, there isn't any blockage.
Samurai Edge
You realize that water takes the easiest path. So, where you see a leak over here, does not mean the leak the leak isn't coming from over there. Couldn't tell from your explanation but did you have this leak before or after the windshield replacement? - If it came after, most likely the windshield person did not properly seal the windshield. This is not uncommon. That's why you can't go to just any windshield place to get a new windshield. As far as that air cowl drain hose goes, did you try blowing pressurized air through it to ensure there is no blockage?

I thought that it was the seal and I took it to a place but they said that they did not do seals only replacement. So I went ahead and had the windshield replaced (with another company) to rule out a possible incorrect windshield and seal. In one of the videos above, I mention that I used both compressed air and water to blow through the cowl. I added weather stripping on the top part of the cowl where it touches the windshield to rule that out. Unfortunately, the rain stopped, at least, for the next week. Rare for the pacifice northwest. Samurai Edge
All you have to do is run water from a hose over the windshield for a while, if you have that opportunity
enigma-2
On a 2007 Edge rain leaking onto the driver's side is most likely due to one of three common areas. 1. a faulty windshield seal 2. clogged sunroof drains or 3. a blocked air conditioning drain. A known issue on the 2007 is the windshield adhesive can fail due to age, which causes the seal to slide and allow rain to soak the floor. It appears that you have addressed this. Clogged Sunroof Drains: If your Edge has a sunroof, if the sunroof drains get clogged, water can overflow into the headliner and down the pillars to the driver's floor. Blocked A/C Drain is a common problem. When clogged, water can back up and leak near the gas pedal on the driver's side. Also, worn or loose weatherstripping around the driver's door can allow water to seep in during heavy rain.
