DaMeez67
I am attempting to find a good guide in relation to the rear seat fold/release mechanism. Its button activated but I don't know much else about it other than it's split with both driver and passenger side. I bought a Haynes manual for my vehicle but surprisingly there's no mention of the rear seat release.
Samurai Edge
What are you trying to understand? Push the button, that half of the seat folds down. It's that simple. No magic involved or needed.
DaMeez67
Mine doesnt work and i would love to be able to fix it. The Haynes manual I bought, for some strange reason doesnt mention anything about that system if you would call it that. Unless it does and I missing it. Or, i could have defective manual thats missing a section?? Edited May 11 by DaMeez67
1004ron
Haynes manuals aren't good these days. I bought one an electrical manual like the one below and its very comprehensive - I'll check to see if it covers the rear seat folding mechanism when I get home. 2013 Ford Edge, MKX Electrical Wiring Diagrams Service Manual I don't see a fuse specifically labeled for the rear seats. Fuses - Fuse Specification Chart Edit: I don't see any reference to an electrical release mechanism for the rear seat backrests - wondering if its a steel cable type? 1004ron
This is the likely reason why you won't find a fuse for the seat backrests. DaMeez67
Thanks man. that was exactly the kind of thing i was looking for. I'm no expert but i think with that information. I just might be able to do this. I wish there was someone who had a video on this on YouTube or something. i think Im more of a "visual learner". Samurai Edge
Of course you can do this. You should have bought a Ford F-150. LOTS of videos available on how to replace the fold down seat latch. All I could find on the Ford Edge was how to fold down the rear seats.
1004ron
@DaMeez67 we can only assume the Edge is the same with regards the seat folding, so we're relying on you to confirm and hopefully post photos to help other Edge owners in the future.
enigma-2
Could also check Fuse #44. (Protects the rear seat release solenoids.)
