yogregb
Hey guys, just installed my retro solutions 5k Hid kit over the weekend, and all I can say is, what a night and day difference, literally!!! Only thing I would suggest is a 3m double side tape option for the mounting of the ballists Really impressed with the light output and color, brilliant white, I highly recommend this kit, and Todd was very helpful... best 130.00 bucks spent!:hyper: Will update later with pics.... yogregb
UPDATE: I've had the retro kit in for 2 months and I did discover a problem with the kit. It contains a very cheap fuse holder that does not hold the fuse tight enough, therefore causing arcing and failure. I replaced this part with a much better fuse holder and a 30amp plug in circuit breaker. Other then that, the kit seems quality and the light output ( 55w) is outstanding! I'll give another update in a few months, I'm still recommending this kit, but be sure to replace the fuse holder or request one from Todd..... darkriff
does this 55w have any problem with electrics on car?
cal3thousand
does this 55w have any problem with electrics on car? The difference is minor. But if you do go this route, get a new harness to power it off a relay and the battery. Don't want to fry your stock wiring accidentally. darkriff
but, how are u using yours? with the stock wiring??
chubbymaddox
I have had my retro solutions kit installed for 9 months now and only had one issue. The fuse wiggled itself loose and i had to push it down to make contact. I have never had them fail on start up. Used a different supplier on my other vehicle and had nothing but trouble. Defiantely recommend the "edge" wiring kit that retro solutions recommends. Great light output with the 35W kit.
cal3thousand
but, how are u using yours? with the stock wiring?? I would never use the stock wiring... Currently, I have the OE HIDs. And even if I were to do a retrofit, I would get a harness.
