  1. Evelyn my edge is great! Just did the latest MFT update and everything's working great! How's Alaska?
  2. How often have you had your oil changed? I got my edge sept 11, 2010 and had the oil changed at 5000 miles. I have not had it changed again. According o the owners manual it says to wait until I get the change oil soon message. I have about 12,000 mies on the edge just curious as to how many times you've had the oil changed.
  3. Thanks! I've been lurking off and on, just haven't been posting. I tried turning DST on and off. Doesn't matter. For instance - Real time is 10:45, GPS time is 9:45 and DST on 8:45/off 9:45. I had the "major" update done February 7th, it fried my unit, had to be replaced, got Egde back on Feb 9th. My ambient lighting was never screwed up, I've always had the Ford logo, no more white screen and the system seems to respond faster. No major problems since the update. I did have the radio loose sound one day. I'd change stations and the sound would work for about 5 seconds then go off, happened on every FM station, Sirius radio still worked fine. Hasn't happened again. I've been really happy with Evelyn (my Edge) until this crazy clock thing. Don't get me wrong... I still love Evelyn. But the clock thing is driving me crazy!
  4. My clock has been going crazy lately! If I set it to use GPS it's always an hour off. If I set it manually it works sometimes a couple days sometimes only until I turn the car off. Has anyone else had this issue?
  5. Glad you found the pictures helpful. You won't be dissapointed! Everyone who sits in my edge comments on how much they like the seinna leather. Just be patient with your MFT and you'll love your edge! I do!
  6. Has anyone noticed that since the upgrade the "i" on the main screen is YELLOW. Mine used to be white. I didn't notice this until yesterday when I was using my travel link and noticed the "i" is now bright yellow.
  7. I took my Edge in on Monday for the MFT update. The original module got fried doing the update so they ordered me a new one on Tuesday. New module came in yesterday morning already updated. They got it installed and I picked up my Edge yesterday afternoon. I played around with a bunch of features before I left the dealer and all seems to be working great! Good Luck!
  8. I got my baby back yesterday! :hyper: Luckily the new APIM module came in yesterday morning fully updated! They installed it in my Edge and now everything is working great! The service manager told me that the problem is the download speed from FORD and that when the download takes so long it sometimes fries the APIM module. I hate that my Edge was in the shop for 3 days for what should have been a couple hour update... but I'm glad it's now fixed and everything is working great. I finally have all the Sirius travel link features that I should have had all along... and my Sirius subscription runs out March 11. Now I'm trying to decided if I want to pay to extend it.
  9. I knew I should have waited. Dropped my car off this morning... went at noon to pick it up... did the update but the navigation wasn't working. They've had it all afternoon trying to get the navigation working. Now they say they think they'll have to replace the whole unit. I'm so mad! :angry: At least they gave me a loaner... but I don't want to drive a Dodge Caravan I want my Edge back.

In the 5 months I've had my Edge, the only "problems" I've had with MFT are lack of the sirus travel link, a couple of black screens when I was trying to use navigation that resolved themselves in 5 minutes, and the white main screen night light. I dropped off my baby this morning for the upgrade. I hope I'm not sorry. On a side note we test drove the 2011 Explorer over the weekend and the changes they've made to dash "buttons" that duplicate the MFT and the location of the USB and other connections are excellent. The MFT seemed faster and had quicker touch reponses. I'm thinking Ford is finally getting the bugs worked out.

  12. I had a similar issue recently with my phone, after a phone call I could not end the call. I tried the end call button on the steering wheel a few times, and then went to the phone screen and hit end call button there a few times and nothing happened. I was getting pissed, but my husband said he thought it was the phone having the issue not the car. So I turned the bluetooth connection on my phone off. The next time I got in the car and turned bluetooth back on everything has worked fine since.
  13. My Edge does that too. Maybe it's a Ford thing. My Focus ZX5 made the same noise... which I never paid attention too, until my husband mentioned it. Had the Focus for almost 8 years and never had to do anything to it except routine service, tires and brakes after 80,000 miles. Post if you ever find out it something that needs to be looked at.
  14. I haven't had my sync upgraded. Still the same version that was installed in August. I tried your little trick yesterday and was able to make it show my A/C seats were on. Just like you I have an Edge so it doesn't really have A/C seats. Weird!
  15. Has anyone gotten their oil changed yet? I have a little over 3,000 miles and my dealer says I should get it changed. The owners manual says to wait until the oil monitoring sensor says to change it. What is everyone's plan? Wait for the sensor? Change on a regular X mile basis. Thanks!
  16. Here in snowy St Louis my 2011 FWD Edge Limited handled the snow beautifully! I even used Manual mode and it was great! The only time I had any problems was getting over the snow bank in front of the garage!

  20. Carrie, I was just about to PM you when I saw your post! I feel exactly the same. I love Evelyn (my Edge) and wouldn't trade her for any other car! I can't get gas prices on my Sirius. I have to make sure the center screen shuts off before I walk away. These are just minor inconviences that will get worked out. But in the meantime I love driving her (no one else has sat in the drivers seat but me, not even my husband!) and everyone that rides with me says the same thing... THIS CAR IS AWESOME!   22. Thanks revOevoM. When I first noticed 5 out of the 8 services were unsubscribed I talked to the dealer and they said talk to Sirius. I was on the phone 2 different times with 2 different techs and they said it showing up as working on their system so it must be a Ford issue. I'm just going to wait. Please post something if you hear about a fix. Thanks!
  23. I think your spat should be with Apple. In my opinion Apple goes out of it's way to make using it's products with non-Apple products impossible. I have an I-Pad... it won't talk to my wireless printer because my printer is networked with a PC. Luckily I use my I-Pad for entertainment and not work. I have had very minor problems with My Ford Touch. In my opinion, the problem is impatience. Are there times when my touch screen is slow... yes. Do I touch it 3 million times trying to get it to work... no. I'm patient and I give it a minute to upload all the details I can't see. If you give it time to boot up when you start the car it all works smoothly. I don't think FORD meant for the consumer to be pulling fuses and trying to force the system to reboot when it's not necessary. Patience is a virtue. I know there are things that aren't working like the commercials show... but they will. And while they're working out the bugs I'll be enjoying the indian summer we're having and driving with the BAMR open and the music up! :shades:
  24. I have an appointment for Friday for the Sync upgrade. I told the service manager I was having problems with Sync and that I went to the SyncMyRide site and it said there was an upgrade. He didn't say anything about a charge. We'll see. My sync problem... last night when my husband came home from work... an hour after I'd parked the Edge in the garage... he came in and asked if I just got home. I said no and he said the screen in the Edge was on. Sure enough when I went to check, the main screen was white and lit up. When I opened the door it showed the Ford logo and then I closed the door and it went off. This is the 2nd time I've noticed that this happened.
